  1. So I'm currently in the process of doing the Single turbo conversion to my RS-B. I've decided to do the coil pack mod and picked up a complete intake manifold from a period appropriate forester v3/4. My main point of reference for this entire project has been the thread on dirty'ol BC. My main confusion with the coil pack mod is the fact that I have a single turbo loom, the write up focuses on if you're using a tt loom. What wiring should I be expected to do with a single turbo loom? I have the ignitor and plug. Also I've never wired before and I don't really want to buy a soldering ion, are there any methods too wire without one? I've never done wiring before.

  3. It definitely Isn't the BOV the sound was worse before I installed it, everything's tight and snug. I've had zero issues with idle, boost gauge reads 19hg/in at idle when engines warm so no vac leaks. I did the test with the cloth and the engine speed didn't change It could be an exhaust leak, the way it pop's is pretty unorthodox. Maybe exhaust leak... - video of pop.At the end of the day the performance isn't effected its just a rough sound. Dampens the mood when I'm going for it on the coromandel coast road. Once again thanks for you're advice EDIT: after reviewing footage, I noticed that when I was going for it and shifted too early I hit the VOD,the noise stopped. Just clean exhaust note albeit sounded like EL headers.
  4. Cheers man very insightful helpful reply I'll be picking up a Apexi Power filter soon, when I install it I will inspect intake piping. If it was a boost leak between turbo and tmic what symptoms could I expect? I mean my Blitz bov goes off very loudly.
  5. ^^ So I've been trying to root out all of the weird noises my legacy makes. Fixed detonation, ticking lifters brakes etc There is however one noise that's been bugging me ( see video above, Ignore title i was just avin a giggle ) I Believe it's either a hole in the dump pipe or maybe a loose waste gate component. I don't think its a stuffed turbo I still hit 14-15psi. The noise only occurs under full acceleration and is intermittent. It mostly happens in 3rd-4th gears at about 4000-5000 rpm. It happens more often when the engine has fully warmed up. If its the wastegate what would need to be tightened and where exactly are they. (EJ20R motor) One more thing should I be hitting 15 psi pre 4500rpm VOD? Could that be too do with a faulty wastegate?
  6. Yeah that thought did cross my mind, Its running the factory airbox so I'm surprised it's that loud. Then again one persons come up to me and asked me if im running a CAI with a pod filter that's how loud it is. As long as it isn't a over-spooling primary turbo I'm content.
  7. So I got my mate to film my car revving to see what it sounded like outside, given my phone camera quality is pretty crap. I noticed this screeching noise at high rpm, I'm pretty sure it isn't a blown turbo since we filmed this video after half an hours driving. I'm not to sure what's causing it. I can't say if I have a lack of boost or anything like that since the cars in the shop getting new clutch fitted at the moment. I was just wondering if anyone could provide me with some insight into this issue. Link:
