If the 205 is in good nick then just a remap of the stock ecu for the setup
should make it run nicer and safer and make better power.
-
The boost and timing tables are set for the the bigger sti turbo so the boost curves are set to hit different zones.
wat boost are you running
-
Looking so good ..
any performance upgrades planned?
-
The abs is part of the CAN system and if there is an issue with that unit then it will
affect the vdc and ecu
- make sure all the wiring is intact and nothing has come loose
- get a abs diagnostic done in case there is an issue with the system
- these systems are fairly bulletproof normally ...
- some codes can be removed but that would be a bandaid as not fixing the actual fault
-
That fuel should be good.
I have also seen the afm being the same
in many threads.
i have the map for that so can compare.
i think the main difference might be the compression ration between the 207 and 205 engines and the sti being more aggressive in its setup.
What turbo are u running?
-
as a starting point:
match the ecu and the afm
and potentially the sti turbo be a good idea
these ecu can be tuned so that allows a much better running car for NZ fuel
What part of the country are you in?

What do you make of this? I contacted Project Lambda Tuning to ask if their products were compatible with my 1999 RevB GTB. They said yes, and that it was able to reflash the ECU. Come again? I thought RevB's were not reflashable?
"To tune your ECU, you will need to purchase our Bluetooth Tuner and an ECU license here: https://lambdatuning.com/product/tuner/. It is capable of reflashing your ECU through the OBD port. This is not a temporary chip or piggyback module that has to 'trick' the ECU into running differently."
Is he on drugs, or is this actually possible?
Hey, Have you got this underway ?
-
Have you got the issue sorted?
-
Can do a custom remap on that ecu if that’s something you wanted.
Even in stock form they have a lot to gain but with a decat they really come alive

Best bang for buck on sgt :
decat downpipe and catback exhaust
remap
fuel pump be a good option as well
front mount if the budgets allow
Have a look at CCT for Subaru specific tunes:
-
the stock solenoid can be replaced with a mac valve..
the downpipe is an excellent mod..
pm me
-
if you are in Auckland, i can help out as done a fair few of these models
the stock controller is good and so is a quality EBC.
boost should not taper off that bad
what mods have you got on it
-
the factory fitted boost solenoids that come on the efr turbos - are they just a bleed valve or a proper interrupt style 3 port solenoid (mac valve styles)?
the turbo booklet referred to them as bleeding some boost away.....
-
what sort of exhaust housing do you have?
is it a full TS housing (what specs?)
or a TS inlet to a SS internal - the TS flange removed internally on the exhaust housing...
-
the SS looks so much better than the TS
mine is not even making gate pressure .. IWG @ a8psi..
makes 11psi only
-
hey man, im having a similar issue with facing fails on a GTx3076 Twin scroll (subaru housing)
has a 0.71AR according to the supplier with 56 trim...
what fuel are you using for that 307kw tune?
have you done any cam work (AVCS?)
starting to loose faith in the turbo....
-
not tried to map the auto box as have only mapped the ecu for the auto cars...
seems to work fine if you drive to what the box likes...
-
basic mods like catless downpipe and a fuel pump upgrade (for safety) along with a tune nets good results all around..
a catback exhaust is good as well if you want the additional sound and worth a little bit more power ..
have open source tuned both auto and manual versions and they both like that approach..
a bigger top mount wont go astry seeing as how cheap they are these days....
limit mods to that as that is enough for the stock turbo and you will have a fun and responsive daily driver...

uniden r1/r3 /r3 are detector detector proof.
irrelevant in nz as detectors are legal and local cops don't use detector detectors.
just tested my r3 against the local fixed redflex polecam.
results were excellent !
in clear/slightly overcast conditions i got ~300m gps voice warning and ~200m radar alert in both directions.
superb results as these things are on tall, skinny poles that are easily missed by eye until too late.
why does your friend want a bel sti xr ?
they are old, old, old
wait a few months and you''ll see a flux of r3 as owners upgrade 😉
thanks - will update him on that
-
is the r7 detectable by the police "rader detector" detector unit?
also, does anyone want to sell their Bell STi XR unit?
(asking for a friend)
-
if you want something that is quiet and still have the flow, i would recomend the xforce quad tips unit
almost like stock but has seen 300kw on the dyno
-
the rev d ecu runs the single setup better but you have to have the matching manifold and sensors as they are different to the rev b u have.. also you are right about the crank wheel being different as well so swap to a rev d or v7 type

Hey man! Sorry for late response. Nah mines silver, I’m gettint a fam friend to do a dyno check on it to see if it’s running mint. Then I can see where to go from there
hoping it goes superb
do sing out if u need a hand ok
-
hey man, 19psi is ok for a tuned v9 to hold
usually drops in the higher revs ..
with catless exhauts, they do spike a bit and normally its the spike that could be the issue ..
either way, with a good tune, they get safer and can run that boost well..
will pm u..
is your one a black v9sti?
surprisingly, we just tuned 2 black V9's in the last few weeks with similar setups...
