  1. Ok been driving around with average ambient of 20 and no pinging evident what is evident is i hit 16 / 17 psi and it tends to bleed off about 3 psi or less with hard acceleration. I have modded the #10 hose , is it likely to be relief valve not holding its pressure or the boost solenoid retarding it? I have factory setup all stock. Was thinking of getting GFB 9000 if the relief valve isnt holding what it used to. Side note when i was running 11 PSI with secondary it was solid as cheers
  2. Thanks mark yeah the ping is a concern i havnt heard it yet but will be keeping an ear out for it cheers
  3. Thanks ross well seems someone at subaru had a brain fade putting it back together for the previous owner so thats one mystery solved. the diagram with the alt routing was straight out of workshop manual so i dunno but anyway is 17 psi too high???
  4. Hey guys i need some clarification i tried searching and going through my manuals but every diagram is different to a degree On the primary turbo there is a line going from the diaphram (wastegate) side to the outlet side of the turbo with a T piece in it and a .8 restrictor. What i want to know is which side of the t piece is that restricter ment to be? The wastegate side or outlet of turbo side? I had been getting 11 psi primary/secondary no codes no hiccups. But i knew secondary wasnt ment to be that low. Now out of dumb luck i ordered the .8 restrictor to do the #1 hose mod but after cleaning solenoids and a reset vod was non exsistant with maybe 1 sec changeover happydays. When part came it came with hose and t piece and was the primary turbo t piece line so i thought what the hell ill change it. I pulled out the old noteing orientation of restrictor ( on the top side near wastegate diaphram) took the car for spin, now only 6 psi on both....dammit. I then looked at diagrams and found one with pill at the bottom near outlet so i changed it over and set it with the pill towards outlet and bottom of t piece . Car is 11 psi primary and 17 psi secondary......HOLLLLY SHIIEET!. After wiping smile of face i need to know is this correct ? The orientation and the stock boost specs for this car before i blow **** up??? On a side note i also found gen 3 diagram with no T piece and the line going from primary wastegate to wastegate solenoid and the outlet line of pri turbo going to wastegate solenoid valve outlet? Is this the correct way ???: /
  5. Geesus you NZ boys must have some really bored arseholes working in authoritive jobs to be picking on tinted windows!. I have only heard a few guys get done but they were being smartarses at the time haha. I have illegal tint and find myself stopped at lights with cops checking the lib out with no problems. I have seen they use a card with various lvls of greyscale and put it behind the tint if they can read the card it passes. I personally wouldnt be getting so hung up on it
  6. Well technically it was yesterday but i took the bbod off and with diagnosis mode put UEC through each solenoid, put new iridium spark plugs in, changed the two rubber fuel hoses that join the EFI rails together under the manifold (leaking) PITA!. Put UEC through the manifold and changed the oil then disabled the rear exhaust port valve and permanantly opened it. Cleared all codes ...... What effin VOD?! This thing is seamless and has no hesitations EJ208D im pretty stoked : ). Today changing rear disks and pads and installing a manifold press gauge.
  7. Is this while turning near full lock and driving slowly?
  8. Lol......(gets the crayons out) im just going to leave it
  9. Each to there own dont do anything to maintain it i guess fuel is awesome it does its own cleaning of the injectors
  10. Fair enough did you see that info i was talking about though? Also food for thought about the "useless hose" do you think suby might of put it there to relief the pressure at high boost operations so you dont stress the relief valve diapghram out?. I know later revisions were ment to have it same as mod and not have that plumbing but which one? My ej208D has it as stock ?
  11. Yes most definately and it doesnt hurt to through some injector cleaner in your tank at the same time
  12. I know that the secondary valve is for that purpose what im saying is if you have not got the rated fuel your ecu will keep that secondary relief valve cracked open via solenoid # 1 to purposely deminish boost to protect your engine. It doesnt activate otherwise, normal operation would see the relief valve bypassing secondary boost until pre spool is aquired then it closes edit tried putting pic up i fail have a look at twin turbo operation and secondary relief valve operation then check out the note about solenoid 1 if i have this wrong may i step on a thousand lego pieces in the carpet
  13. I realise this is an old post but your #1 solenoid that deals with the supercharged pressure to the secondary relief valve is there incase you put degraded fuel in and the ECU senses and opens the #1 solenoid ( limiting boost) to prevent damage to the engine if you are using proper rated fuel it should never relief secondary supercharged press.
  14. Yea i know its bloody weird what im trying to find out is what everyone elses sits at on 100 km with same car as mine weather my tacho has been miss reading or not. eeesh facepalm i had a seniors moment and got it mixed up with my gen3 outback
  15. So i did this today on my 02 ASDM B4 and it gets a little snapier on the primary no detonation on secondary at 21 deg like it had done if i pushed it too hard. The wierd thing is in 5th gear at 100km it normally sat at 3100RPM but now sits at 2600RPM. Can anyone tell me if they have had similiar experience with RPM Dropping at highway speeds???
