When attaching any exhaust components, say uppipe to turbo, would you use a gasket sealer as well as the metal gasket? Or should the gasket seal well enough to not need any sealer?
Pretty sure I need a new front o2 sensor. Both partsouq and Jpparts only have a reference to "FIG440" for the sensor, can't actually find the part or a price for it.
Anyone know where to get a decent but not hella expensive one from? For a SG5 Forester
So drove the forester to the supermarket... pulled into the carpark and the revs started surging and the check engine light came on. No idea why.
Any ideas where to begin?
Underside of the exhaust manifold. Took off the heat shield to track down a leak. All the bolts are rusted to bits so can I get away without it or should I just buy more bolts?
So was ordering some valve cover seals last night. The left hand side was in stock but the right hand side was out of stock.
Do they regularly update their stock levels? I'd have thought it would have been fairly common and in demand part.
Bad news, contacted the supplier. They aren't going to stock that part anymore. Remove it from the website maybe? Why keep advertising somthing you're not going to sell ever again.
Yeah i got one eventually. Also had to get a couple of new hoses to fit it. The red 90 degree hose was too short to connect to my tiny wee td04. Ill post some pics later in the week on my garage thread.
So....$40 plus $12 freight. $52 total. Kinda expected it to fit straight away. Both ends needed to be trimmed, which I didn't mind doing, but its hard to get the cuts looking 100% nice. Even with using a hose clamp as a cutting guide and a new razor blade. I also ordered the hose in black but got a call saying they had no black, only one blue hose left.
For my Car...
02 Forester XT. Has a TD04 which spools fast but doesn't really pull through the rev range. Thought a Vf30, VF32 would be a good upgrade and then a tune.
