  1. Hey team,

Mrs is away this weekend trying to fill in some space - anyone free this weekend for a get together? wont lock anything in stone yet but if decent turnout is keen for a little drive up to Ohau I am ok opening up my home to the OG members (New members welcome if long standing members can vouch for you) sounds a bit stink but opening my home up I can only be wary.

Could be keen to crank a bbq, have lots of land with landscaped parts make for perfect back drop in photos ;)

Let me know your thoughts - could be keen to take the car for a cruise if people dont want to travel up these ways and once we have some people sorted I will make a FB event as we will most likely forget hahaha

ive had my car nearly 4 years and snowed it once the other week.
only  other time it gets washed is when serviced and the apprentice has to clean it.

today i waxed the bonnet, roof and top of front guards...
the lower areas are covered in tar spots
I just love zoning out and polishing haha.grab some car pro Tar X and itll wipe right off

  3. Do the rear side ones to reinforce what you have (not in photo of purple car)

optional lower only front side intrusion are LVVTA and no log book last I checked (almost horizontal bar in middle of left edge in purple car)

only the front hoops, upper side intrusion and through the firewall are MSNZ authority card items.

there are a few catches with the harness bar as you really need to know what seats and level they will sit as there are harness angle horizontal to 20 degrees. Not the biggest deal to move them later as the welds aren’t covered up.
    the upper

if you haven’t go grab schedule A from MSNZ site free and look through it.
also your LVVTA guy should have told you how far the bars can come forward toward the seats.

I had issues making the half into a full as welding the new front hoops up by the roof. it required the roof to come off or the bars to bend down to weld 360 degrees around, not ideal but again can be done. .
Awesome cheers! Yeah the team at Kaizen are known for their rollcages and know i want to extend it later so have set it all up for that. Should be good though cant wait to use some harnesses at the track next event

  4. I was recommend the rear triangulation bars as if you get hit in the back or go backwards first into the wall the rear bars can collapse forward.
It makes less chassis flex as it braces the door opening which is a weak point too.
Ahh sweet I don't have a lot of knowledge more went with the company who have a good reputation building them. So when you were talking about the side intrusions are you meaning going to the front? Or for the rear. When implementing them don't you need the log book etc

  5. Nice

Are you getting side bars from were he is welding to the bottom of the lower points of the main hoop?

you are also allowed to have front intrusion beams from the main hoop to the front footwell under LVVTA last time I did one. Makes a big difference to the chassis but you can still get in  and out easy. I set the bars low so about seat cushion level at mid point.

Make sure you photo graph everything a lot and keep the paperwork from the pipe order in case you finish it to a full cage.
    Cheers mate for the info!

The rear cage will be the main hoop a harness bar with the cross bar through it like the photo below i am not doing side intrusions etc at this point but will be lioking to go full cage later on 68a052525f06e8e692b901ca80f85cb5.jpg

  6. Found out Yesterday the water blaster had one on these foam spray attachments so tried to turn the car into a snow sculpture.

turns out free foaming spray nozzle isn’t the best so it didn’t foam enough to stay stuck.

auto glym foam lasted on the ground for hours afterwards.

for first time this year the car was almost clean. this morning covered in bird s*** again.

Haha yeah the water blaster has its own attachment. But I went straight for a proper foam cannon after some youtube research foam was thick as and stuck for ages but did make a hell of a mess on the surrounding areas haha!

  7. Ordered these carbon backing plates to get rid of the hideous orange reflectors.

But in my fashion not long after sticking these on I tripped over and broke my Femur and now my clutch leg is out of action for 6 - 8 weeks (crying on the inside)

So car coming along but will be disconnecting the battery and putting a cover over it while my leg heals. 7b2f761d74687b528e23baa59b70efb5.jpg

Tell that to my Nissan with 4xx000 on it... or @DRFVDR's old Troopy which had like 600000 or something mad like that.

High k's are fine on everything if well maintained, I've seen a V7 STI with over 300k on the original motor.

EDIT: Also lol, euros aren't generally OK at any KMs. My friend has owned 2x S4's and both have shat the bed in incredibly expensive ways at under 100000, and he is fastidious about looking after them.

Think you hit the nail on the head with the well maintained part. My V7 has 131,000kms on the body and is on its third motor that i know of -_-

  9. Picked my car up from Kaizen works who fixed two exhaust leaks and fitted my air oil separator. Tracked down a new spot light cover as mine decided to exit the bumper last time I drove the car :( so will be getting some paint matched on Saturday to spray the new one. Besides this just waiting for Tuesday to roll around so I can have the touch up tune done then enjoy the car :)

Main thing with Steve is the time and turnaround from what i understand. dont really want the car sitting there with no turbo for 6 months haha.

My mechanic has been recommending a tomei as his in house tuner got 300kw out of a similar setup on those turbos but the $$ is a bit off putting atm.

Yeah the Tomei M8265 is great! however has been discontinued - I have a mate here in welly who has about 280kw on 98 and 320ish with e85.

They have the smaller option available also which i am sure would be ok but you are rite the price is up there not much more for a EFR :o

  11. I was going to put cams in mine before the tune just recently and was told unless im shooting for high power 300kw + they are unnecessary and I would mainly be buying them for the idle noise haha. You could always go for a bigger turbo which would normally have a bit more lag however it would shift that power band up?

Maybe even have a chat to Steve Murch, he quoted me around $700 to modify my VF30 to make more power he said it would be better than a TD05
