Well i installed my DW300 after work and went for a spin, the only thing that i noticed was that it was definitely way quieter than the walbro
If anyone wants a second hand walbro gss342 let me know $50 to anyone who wants it only thing is the little tab for holding the sock on is broken
Yummy pump!
Nope the sock that came with the dw300 is way smaller so i will use the stock one see my other problem here
Pic of sock that came with the DW300 - very small
hmm okay I see - so would you not reccomend installing the DW300? one other reason I'm keen to is because the little tab that the sock attaches to on the Walbro is broken, hence wanting to put the DW300 in
Hi there - I just won a new DW300 fuel pump on trademe for a good price - just wondering will I find any difference over my Walbro GSS342? - car is stock with a tune - V7 STI
This is interesting - my STI seems very average on fuel too - I only get around 300kms per tank around town and 400 - on open road? - is a bit better since i had it tuned - wondering If i need to check my plugs out? - have had a new fuel filter and use 98 as well?
95 octane will be fine - Im not saying you should replace it but definitely give it a clean with AFM Cleaner - otherwise - definitely try the option with your mate - also i cant say for sure it is your AFM - but its the only thing i can think of at the moment
Note - I also had a 3.0R Legacy and by cleaning my AFM made it more responsive
Morning people - just looking ahead for my V7 STI - so 3rd gear tends to crunch if your not careful, what would be best to do here? - rebuild the syncro? or find another second hand 6speed box?
On the other hand I'm used to driving it and can drive it without crunching it - its just the odd occasion that i forget when I'm fanging it haha
Unfortunately I purchased the car like this and didn't notice it when i test drove it
What sort of cost would I be looking at to rebuild it?
Unusual idle sometimes can indicate a dirty or defective AFM - first thing i would do is get a can of AFM cleaner and clean your AFM - I ended up solving this issue on a Legacy I had by replacing the AFM
Right so finally I have fixed this I got a secondhand complete pump assembly and swapped the factory sock onto the walbro
And wow it has made a HUGE difference! I can't even get it to surge with the fuel light on now
So adding to that if you are changing your pump ALWAYS keep your factory sock filter unless the aftermarket one is the same
See below the difference in the size of the sock filters!
First Performance car was a 1995 Subaru Legacy GT - ironically was my first ever car - unfortunately it only boosted 5psi and never found out the problem with it
