  1. Fairly certain for the 3.0R manuals it just changes the throttle response. Haven't driven a facelift one though so could be corrected. I will say that from my experience for it's far easier to find a pre-facelift, there just didn't seem to be any 2006+ manual 3.0Rs while I was looking a while back. Plenty of autos and scattered manual 2L turbos.
  2. I picked up a 2005 3.0R Spec B manual with 123,000 for $10K a few months back (dealership). The paint was pretty rough, was absolutely covered in super fine scratches (was maybe attacked by birds?) which was maybe the reason for the low price. A cut and polish fixed 95% of that though so all good with me. Honestly <$12K is a good deal, <$10K is a bargain IMO. Wouldn't pay more than 12K unless it had full NZ service history or something.
  3. Hi all, Picked up a 2005 3.0R Legacy a few months ago, it's started knocking a little at about 2,700-3,000 rpm (only sporadically when accelerating really slowly). Auckland based, and have taken it to both Subtech and Parnell Motors (Euro guys but have good experiences previously) - both of them have more or less said just deal with it, as it's not popping any codes and there's nothing obviously broken. I've read that the 3.0R can ping on the stock tune regardless so am now considering my options with am aftermarket tune which will hopefully sort it. Slightly leaning towards an e-tune due to cost and relative convenience, am also tempted by just leaving on a dyno for a couple of hours. Can anyone recommend someone in Auckland, preferably south?
