  1. Thanks. Would like to look at the earthing issue mentioned in my post, before swapping out the cluster. "check the signal wire" is probably above my pay grade without step by step instructions. Cheers tho
  2. Hi guys, the car itself is running fine, and all dash lights, the speedo and the tacho are working well. The gauges are dead. I've had the cluster out and all appears ok to the naked eye. I have googled and seen a few others with this issue - some suggested the could be the 10A instruments fuse but that's fine. Another site suggested an earth issue somewhere around the under bonnet fuse box? Question one: if its an earth under the bonnet issue, where exactly would I look? Question 2: Anyone else have this issue and resolve it conclusively? TIA!

  4. Ah yeah, about thirty minutes after I posted the videgrip thing thats exactly what I did lol. Im trolling trademe for a good muffler and/or backpipe to replace it with, even if the car sells I figure most buyers will be looking for a decent (leagl) suby rumble, mine sounds way too muted until you put the pedal down.
  5. Not a bad idea, man. If the car doesn't sell I may do that. Im kind of hankering for a deeper rumble than this stock muffler gives out though, so the car may end up with a catback or just a new muffler to make some noise lol.
  6. Hiya, My 96 RS-B has this electronically controlled (via the boot) muffler on it, theres a cable that pulls a plate shut at low revs, then opens at full throttle - my mechanic mate thinks its for noise or emmisions control in Japan. Has anyone else seen this on an RS? Ive currently vice gripped the cable open fulltime, the exhaust sounds better and the car seems to pick up better too. I think my pipe diameter is 3", whats the best muffler to get a decent rumble and good (legal) flow if I chop out this weirdo muffler?
