Thanks for the help guys. 12,000 rms damn that's awesome. I prefer A/B class for the high quality. I'm going to use Class D for the subwoofer. So just a big battery and maybe a cap should be more than sufficient.

Probably rarely. Is the dimming headlights symptom the first symptom or could damage already have occurred before you get dim headlights on an excessive current draw?

EJ251 with 90 Amp alternator. Everything is factory apart from a powered subwoofer on a 15 amp circuit (Kicker Hideaway). My question is if I added a 4 channel amp running 80w rms at 4 ohms x 4 what size alternator would I need? Also what would be the size of the alternator if I added the amplifier and swapped the powered sub for a 1000w rms sub? Any help is much appreciated
