I had ID1000 injectors on my old car, which worked really well.

Have you thought about getting a custom exhaust set up made locally? Might be around the same price or possibly cheaper than freighting one over from overseas? Otherwise keep an eye out on Trademe and Subaru Speed. i found my 3inch Fujitsubo exhaust for $400 when i was looking.

If you decide to go Genuine with your turbo, give me a yell as I can get hold of Garrett and Borg Warner for good prices.

Yeah probably looking to go genuine, are there any other turbos you'd recommend?

the rotated setup would be nice

ID 1000 work great as used on a few cars that i have tuned.

FMIC - dependinig on budget u can also do mushimoto as they do a good unit

exhaust - you will need to get some custom fabrication done

have u got a shop that has done this for u?

@Subirex Automotive would do a nice build if you are looking for suggestions.

Ok will look into the ID1000 injectors, And yeah will probably end up getting a custom exhaust set up, I've been chatting to Patrick at PBMS but am open to suggestions, will look into @Subirex Automotive

    Thanks guys for the help!

  2. Hey,

I've been looking into a rotated gtx3076r setup,

Not sure on injectors yet but was thinking just going with Bosch 1000cc E85 compatible injectors (probably going to stay on 98 pump for a while)

    And HDi hybrid FMIC,

Suggestions for the exhaust?, It's just a cheap Ebay Turbo back setup at the mo.

    Thanks

  3. Evening,

Looking at doing adjusties for my v7 STi however not 100% sure on the best product to go with.

Seems BC's are a solid entry level and am pretty tempted to go straight for them, however wondering if it would be better to fork out some more money and go with something more quality...

    What are your thoughts?

Also is it a good idea to replace the control arms/tie rod ends at the same time?

    Thanks in advance :)

    exhaust

    turbo upgrade

    bigger injectors and pump

then tuned it up all on the stock ecu :)

has launch control and antilag for the owner as well for some some show off fun

this was on the stock top mount (we will get a front mount and push it a bit more actually)

    Wow that's great!

which tuner is this by the way?

I have a twisted turbo setup for sale, made 268wkw on my car with a top-mount intercooler.

Would probably do it for $1700 with the wastegate.

Thank you for the offer! However, I don't really want to rush into thing and am just gauging my options.

    Really appreciate it :)

with the e85 side of things you'll def want to get flex fuel sensor so that at any moment there can be different mixtures of e85 / unleaded 98 and it'll auto adjust to run fine. get this sorted before your tune so you only have to do it once. not sure what area you're in but make sure your local tuner is comfortable to perform this tune on carberry rom on your stock ecu otherwise you need to travel bit further to find someone who is comfortable with that, or get the tuners ecu of choice which means factoring in more $$

for that aimed power level you're definitely gonna need bigger injectors. id 1050x for 98 and potentially id1300s for e85 (check with your tuner what he recommends, i'm not sure the limit of id1050 but it seemed to run just fine for me at 240ish wkw on 98 with plenty duty cycle left)

yes go top mount for sure. i got an hdi kit which fit in quite well, allowed me to keep the stock fog lights not that i really use them but i just like the way they look lol. more importantly it's of pretty high quality with super efficient core. you will have much less worries about heat soak when you start pushing high boost etc. with front mount also.

td05 will acheive your power but you should really consider the more modern turbo ranges. i know theres a bit of a price difference but modern turbochargers with their advanced technology will deliver better power levels more efficiently and more importantly the boost curve will be more sexier (as in you won't have near as much lag during daily driving scenarios)

you will need to change to an ethanol compatible fuel pump

depending on how much boost you will run, you may need new map sensor but check with your tuner. shouldnt need new maf sensor since will probably run speed density but again best said by the person tuning it.

recommend you to check some of the 'optional' mods also when you start pushing higher power levels, such as : oil cooler, oil catch can, split fuel rails

    shopping list :

    • turbo
    • injectors
    • flex fuel sensor
    • fuel pump
    • ethanol compatible fuel lines to replace the factory rubber stuff. if you already have replaced with fuel lines make sure they are ethanol compatible
    • front mount kit w/piping
    • labour to install above
    • maybe map & maf sensors

Wow, that was really comprehensive, thank you I'll definitely consider those options,

I'm located in Auckland, do you have any recommendations for tuners?

Thanks to everyone else, really appreciate it :)

  6. At the moment she's my daily but that isn't an issue can sort a daily out,

I'm looking for somewhere 250-260 kw region,

Budget would be somewhere around 5-6k, not looking to do immediately or all at once.. Just gauging my options

    Thanks

  7. Evening,

Just a food for thought question, currently own a v7 STi Stock Motor, Turbo

    Mods:

    40mm TurboSmart Wastegate

    Mac 3port Boost Solenoid

    DW200 Fuel Pump

    3'' Turbo Back

    Stock Intake silencer Delete

    GFB Respons Blow off

    21psi.

    Around 210 kw atw

So, what I am wondering is where to next?

Looking at turbos Td0520g would be a good start, or should I jump into something like a td06sl2

I'm also still on the stock top mount, probably about time to go front mount?

    Anyway, what are your thoughts?

Thanks have a good night :)

P.S I like Uelh, I don't really want to go down the road of eqlh

  8. I'm still considering it, and I would give them 7-8/10, Auckland

    Offer?

I feel like that looks good, but I also feel like the T1R's are a kinda expensive tyre to completely trash the first time you have a couple of mates in the back.

Yeah I'm trying to avoid that at the mo haha,

    One at a time please!

  9. Hey guys!

    Thanks alot for your comments

    So, I went with:

Rota Grids 18x9.5 38p - Toyo T1R Proxes 235/40/18 5mm Spacer on the front (clear brembos)

I had to get the Guards rolled and when I was heading home with my old wheels+tyres in the back it rubbed whenever I went over a bump

However, taking the wheels out it's great! No rub at all, went round alot of roundabouts no sweat,

I have stock suspension but with Tein springs, planning on doing bc coils but not too sure if it's worth the money+cert etc and how much of a difference it will make to my stock suspension as I know the STi suspension is great.

    What are your thoughts?

    After: https://gyazo.com/aeba7601386c2c7eaf80ad623f16857f

    Thanks!

  10. Ok, thanks

I'm looking at 18x9.5 Rota Grids with 35p offset,

    With Toyo 245x40x18 T1R Prxes,

What do you think of that?

I'm thinking I'm going to have to roll the guards,

And yeah I've heard about that with the brembos so i'm just gonna go through hyper drive and get a refund if they don't fit as they offer it!

    Thanks

  11. Hey,

I own an '01 STi and am looking to upgrade my currently stock wheels,

Was wondering what the best fitment and sizing is for a '01 STi, looking for something aggressive and to protrude outside of my flares as the current setup are extremely far inside my flares,

    Thanks alot!

P.S don't want to go down the road of spacers

  12. Hi,

    I own a N/A 2007 Subaru legacy sedan, with an EJ20

    I am wondering if a N/A EJ20 engine can sound the same as a turbo'd EJ20?

For example if i installed a full exhaust kit (INVIDIA) or along those lines if I could achieve the same sound?

    Thanks a bunch :)
