  1. 1.25 flat Manfield 10 Sept 2011 1989 RS leggy, original factory longblock with various go fast mods V5 sti shocks
  2. mine has been dyno tuned to run 98 yep Just to be clear..............there's no bells and whistles about Unichip........they're very very basic and most tuners would probably steer you more towards a full stand alone engine management system like Link, Haltec, Megasquirt etc With Unichip you still run your afm as well.........which I see from your first post, you're trying to eliminate If you do go the piggy back way.....talk to a few of your local tuners first to make sure they're familiar tuning piggy backs. When it comes to stand alone engine management systems or Piggy back ECUs.........you're spoilt for choice really. Just do your research before you part with the $$ ;D
  3. 18...........ur sti will have no prob cracking 2 hundy with the right mods
  4. I've run an APS Unichip piggyback ECU for the last 4 years in my 1989 RS legacy......and it's done me just fine. But it's basic as...fuel/air, ignition, timing. Some unichips have more functions than others.......some even have antilag. Here's he APS one http://www.airpowersystems.com/unichip/unichip_more.htm Here's the North American equivalent http://www.unichip.us/21-what-is-the-unichip I'm running V3 yellows, Walbro 500, an 18g TD05, and 3" exhaust. The unichip nets me around 40kw extra (over factory) at the wheels (around 190 atw all up) on a completely factory 21 year old longblock.............all day everyday......track days included........and not once has the Unichip missed a beat or dropped a tune Duno what unichips retail for now but I've heard they can be picked up for 2-3 hundy. If you don't wana go down the stand alone engine management road.........piggybacks are an option
  5. what ecu, turbo and fuelling setup are u running?
  6. do both if you can.....but agree the pump probably b4 the split If you're gona use Tee joiners on the split rail setup......consider Y joiners instead for better flow
  7. stoffa u thread hijackn biarrrtch! Lol Gimee ur quickrack ur never gona use it anyway!
  8. does anyone know the cam journal and lobe lift measurements for V3 STI cams? or any other identifying marks on the cams like letters or numbers etc....that would tell me they are V3 STI? cheers
  9. Hi....if this is just a daily driver then both those oils are fine Use the search function and it should bring up a past few threads on oils
  10. i've never had one........must try
  11. i have to pass on this one.................maybe next time
  12. cheers Viv....................was thinking more future proofing and maybe I could get this one at a good price.............from what people have said though this one's pretty shagged so will pass...........thanks anyway
  13. cheers guys think I will avoid this one..............
  14. can you post pics of soild centre and sprung centre?
  15. thanks Al....yep I had heard that about stop start traffic. I'm not sure if the one I'm looking at is ceramic or not I will have to find out. Yes I'm looking at a clutch that can take the bash on the track and is still ok for daily drive............I'll just have to make sure I don't end up in start stop traffic.........which is rarely anyway cause I take the train in and out of town
  16. ok.....interesting......so not so horrible to drive........and yours is a 6 puk?...............which would be worse than a 5 puk to drive daily?
  17. cheers thanks for that.........I thought about this clutch as future proofing too because I'm slowly building up another STI spec long block which I'm hoping will push out a bit more power. sweet......so you just got used to it?
  18. does anyone run a 5 puk clutch in their daily? what's it like as a daily drive?.....especially in traffic.......taking off etc I'm considering one for the '89 RS...... which I use for track and daily drive. I run a '94 RS gearbox I've been told 5 puk is overkill for my needs.... but I may be able to score one (2nd hand good one)......at a good price I've driven on this particular clutch when it was in another '89 RS. Can't say it felt that much diff from my own...but that was changing gears on the open road....not round town in traffic......or stopping 'n starting often etc... your thoughts?..........pros n cons?
  19. I've run both............VF23 for earlier response and good thru the middle and top as well......mine was on full boost at 3500 TD05 for middle and top.........mines on full boost at 4200 (18g wheel) For my style of driving (daily and track).........TD05
  20. farkin car parks.........worse place for dings
  21. thanks for the advice on this one I ended up doing them myself with piece of perspex and syringe I got 17cc but gona do it 1 more time to double check
