  1. Has anyone here purchased the Premium 6Spd manual version? What's it like? I also see we don't get the TR version with the Brembos and Recaro seats.
  2. Why can the 2.4T Premium be configured as a 6Speed Manual but not the higher spec tS?
  3. Ok Ill let you know if my search for already black matte ones or I can't get them.
  4. Anyone know who sell this part of the Legacy radio facia/trim? Circled in red in the pic. My one has cracked at the top, unsure if it's something I did, or if it was a result of the dash replacement that I had Wingers do a couple of years ago. I noticed it back then albeit after a couple of months.
  5. Hi Any recommended service/ mechanics with reasonable prices in Auckland, preferably Central or West Auckland. Needing some work on Legacy, rocker cover leak, and diagnose possible rear diff leak.
  6. Subaru NZ haven't acknowledged the problem for JDM and Local, I got the run around. Even though there's been class action lawsuits in the USA, and some replacements in Aus. When my recall notice for air bags came around, I took them up on the offer of a dash replacement for $800. Got Winger North Shore to do it all at the sametime including a service. I can't fault Wingers workmanship on the replacement job, it looks factory new fit and finish wise. Still not entirely happy with having to pay for a replacement, but what are we gonna do.
  7. Ha yea I already had sound deadening in all 4 doors from when I upgraded factory stereo/ speakers etc..
  8. I just took it back couple days before lockdown, they said it was from fuel pump to fuel tank seal.. they sealed it up fro me in time.
  9. Does anyone know if the Infinity Kappa Perfect 600 speakers will fit in the front door of a JDM 2006 Legacy GT specB? https://www.infinityspeakers.com/component-sys/INFINITY+PERFECT+600.html They have a mouth depth of 72.8mm and total depth of 86.5mm I know will need a spacer due to speaker depth, but will the door card fit back on is what I'm wondering? Whats probably a little more concerning is the size of the Crossover unit, and whether there is space under the door card to mouth it somewhere. It looks much larger than the current crossover I have. I can't find actual dimensions of the crossover unit. cheers
  10. So I see and smell petrol dripping under my Legacy today, of all days 1 day before lockdown. I had just filled the tank couple days ago. I called Winger North shore since they had done some recall work few weeks earlier and I haven’t had a full tank since then. Luckily they can get me in and will asses it tomorrow. This the work they did, would the leak be related or different issue?
  11. Finally got my letter for the Airbag, however theres a couple more recalls listed Fuel pump harness needs to be inspected, and secondary air pump relay needs to be replaced. Wish they would do the sticky/cracking dash while they're at it, however they haven't admitted to that one.
  12. So I re-tried with the Op connector detailed here https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/mythical-2005-op-connector-system-94474.html?p=2662545&postcount=23 Just made sure the wire joiner cut through the wire insulation, worked fine after that also had to drive around to get it to recognise the VSS signal. Heres mine just behind the Drivers side Fuse box, had to pull it down a bit
  13. Grounding only works on the parking sensor, not the VSS wire. Annoying. Wireless CarPlay won't work without it. here what the manual says on the Speed sense wire
  14. So installing a Kenwood wireless car play unit, apparently for wireless CarPlay to work the VSS (Speed sensor wire) must be hooked up. I tried to follow the legacy GT write up here https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/mythical-2005-op-connector-system-94474.html?p=2662545&postcount=23 And connected the green/black wire to the Kenwood pink VSS wire, but still getting the error. I got a 2006 JDM Legacy BL the wire colours & pinouts should be the same?
  15. Dealer/Service Centre Name: Winger North Shore Month/Year: May 2018 Category: 100,000 KM service / Cambelt Vehicle: 2006 Legacy GT Spec B Rating: 4 out of 5 Description: Bit late adding this, Since purchasing my vehicle from Winger North Shore, I've conducted it's 10,000km service there yearly. Been generally good experience and reasonable pricing and vehicle is always returned well groomed.. The time was due for cambelt replacement / 100,000km service. Overall everything was as expected, including work carried out for cambelt replacement. Yes price was an arm and a leg, however I was expecting that for Cambelt work. Oddly I don't think they replaced the water pump, at least it wasn't noted in the itemised detail of work. So I queried it with them as I thought it was usually replaced during camblet replacement, they advised it wasn't necessary to replace at this time. So we will see..
  16. You should email/call this guy at Subaru NZ. Wasn't much help with my sticky dashboard issue. But you may get better luck. Andrew Lov [email protected] Customer Experience Specialist DDI: (+64) 9 272 7743
  17. They provided me the following, in Jan 2017 20% off $1000, plus I'd also have to pay install costs at the dealer (Winger) etc.. Which I think is BS having to fork out $800+ install. I've been meaning to rark them up again on social with the latest pics.. haven't got around to it.
  18. Mine said no recall yet. I got the 1st letter this week that said it was still being checked by Subaru Japan.
  19. Can you contact Subaru NZ as they mention NO ONE has reported the issue on a NZ model. Philip.Hall AT subaru DOT co DOT nz Andrew.Lov AT subaru DOT co DOT nz Hi so how has this held up in the HOT Summer over the past few months? I will get some and try it soon.
  20. Ok I didn't end up installing the reverse camera, due to the fact that the wifi adapter that came with the Kenwood CarPlay unit had firmware which couldn't upgrade anything. So they sent me another hardware revision, I just didn't find the time to take it all apart again. Now that xmas hols is rolling around and I have time, I'm going to install it. Back to searching for that pesky Reverse gear signal wire. What colour is it? and Where is it? This is the passenger footwell, is it underneath the foot plate see pic, or in the loom with the green connector? (whats the green connector btw?) Or can I tap a wire from the Drivers side wiring, anything available in those 2 loom connectors (top of pic)?
  21. So is the JDM legacy 2006 still SSM only? Too much conflicting info all over the place. I get the feeling the Kiwi3 I ordered won't work...
  22. Yes thats why I went ahead and got the Kiwi3, coming http://www.plxdevices.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=897346002832 Let's hope it works with my JDM Legacy. When I had the B4, nothing worked, even had trouble with Evoscan and SSM cable. Appreciate if anyone know what IOS app will work on the JDM Legacy?
  23. Hmm interesting. I was going to use Dash command. I wanted one with low power sleep mode since I'll most likely leave it plugged in. Will check if the Jaycar one sleeps
  24. The issue is not an adhesive, solvent, cleaning agent etc that anyone has used. The simple fact is, there is an issue with the plastics that FHI Subaru has used for the Dash, and that plastic is breaking down over time. It will show up as a white cloudy colour film over various parts of the dash, then when left in the sun this film will melt and make the dash sticky. No amount of cleaning it will work, it may delay it, i.e. you won't see it for a couple of weeks, however it will come back since its the plastic breaking down. I didn't get anywhere with Subaru NZ admitting an issue at all. They kept bleating on that none of the NZ ones have this problem and none has reported it to them. I asked them to get info from FHI in Japan, but that also went nowhere. In the end all they offered was a discount on a new Dash, 20% off $1000, plus I'd also have to pay install costs at the dealer (Winger) etc.. I said I'll think about it and left it at that for now. What has your friend at Subaru NZ said?
  25. Does anyone know of a wifi version of a OBD2 plug that would work with a JDM 2006 BL Legacy GT specB? I need wifi because thats what most wireless versions are for iPhones. (not bluetooth). I only want to it to view various gauges/status via phone. Not for reflashing. Will this work with my vehicle? http://www.plxdevices.com/Kiwi-2-OBD-Car-to-Smartphone-Connection-p/897346002863-897346002856.htm ?
