  1. If you need extra head room I think most new Subaru seats have vertical adjustment 😂
  2. Got the front and rear sway bar kit installed on my car today, chose the stiffest setting on the front and went for the medium setting in the rear. Quick test drive and it definitely feels more solid - even just driving down the gravel driveway over bumps feels more composed. Downside is that it now highlights just how crap the factory struts / springs are, anyone got hook ups for cheap strut / spring combo or used coil overs for a V11 / GV WRX? 😛 I was tempted to set the rears on full hard but opted for medium, anyone have it set to hard in the rear in the rear ? FYI adjustable end-links are a pain in the ass to install. Set the locking collars 3mm away from the bar mounts as per instructions - would it be better mounting them hard up so there's less room for movement?
  3. I don’t mean to revive an old thread but I think the idea is good but in reality it’s a terrible design, fairly general maintenance would require removal of the engine compared to working on the likes of a straight or V mounted engine. It’s bad enough trying to squeeze my arms down the side of the flat 4 to change spark plugs, I’d hate to see a mechanics bill to replace seals 😬 did anyone also notice the low Tq figure on the flat 12? Incredibly low and way up top in the rev range. I think the Subaru motor would be better suited for boost and I think a more exciting version would be a flat 6 or highly tuned flat 4 to keep weight down over the front of the car. Straight cut gears sound great in that video ^ 🤤
  4. I haven’t been there for a long time, any work you do make sure you ask for a quote or they can sting ya for miscellaneous s*** at full price. I got my 100k service done there a few years ago on my GRB STI for $1800 quoted (fair price considering a non branded shop was about $1600), went back another time for a check on something and got charged $30 for a bolt 😂😂😂😂 I didn’t ask but I assumed it was made of gold or something Sweet, might take you up on that offer. I live in Hamilton so that makes life easy. Just got to prioritise my next list of mods (speedo gauge pod all up is about $5-600 😳)
  5. Whats It usually cost to get a boost gauge setup? I've never bothered with aftermarket gauges etc before in any of my cars, would be quite handy for checking leaks like you've mentioned
  6. Who did you buy it from in the end? I'm trying to decide if I want to get one now or wait until I have a bit more spare cash in my hand - Only place in NZ i've seen them for sale is from moonlight racing (a bit more than i want to pay tho)
  7. Nitto tyres, slightly stretched (last owners choice) - i think they are 225/40 18, Once they're worn out I'll opt for 245/255 35 18 to have the correct amount of rubber for the rim (9.5") Parking meter hasn't been topped up in awhile and the parking warden can be quite a b!tch but no parking tickets yet, fingers crossed ;)
  8. There’s a few videos of the r400 on the newer wrx / sti, sounds pretty good. You could get a shop to add a resonator to the system if you wanted a cat less downpipe for extra performance.
  9. Shipping is about $18 or free when you spend over $100 on parts. One package got through without customs fees, the other three got stopped but I only paid duty on one of the three items the roll center kit did change the handling on my stock height wrx, it’s not too different tho
  10. Dont get me wrong it sounds great, it just wont pass a wof with a catless downpipe unless you add another resonator. The resonators on the R400 are tiny and don't do much. The Q300 is the same exhaust but with larger resonators just before the tips
  11. Wish I'd seen this earlier, I bought heaps of whiteline parts!!
  12. Dont get the R400, especially with a catless downpipe, it is EXTREMELY loud and drones like crazy
  13. Bit late now but BNT had a trade day special the other week (50% off). I got all my whiteline stuff off trademe through "Spares box". Definitely recommend doing the complete whiteline shifter bushing kit. Throw some rear subframe and diff inserts in too if you haven't already. Also if you do the roll centre ball joints order in some lower control arm bushes while the arm is off. Definitely need a wheel alignment afterwards.
  14. So finally got most of the parts and have been putting them in slowly every other day after work, (green = completed) -Blitz Coil overs with front camber plates - Didn't fit (think they were actually off an STI) -Sti front and Cusco rear strut bar -Whiteline front and rear sway bar kit ( lateral locks, rear sway bar mount support bars, heavy duty end links) -Whiteline control arm brace -Cusco pitch stop arm -Whiteline Sub-frame bushes -Whiteline Power steering rack bushes Whiteline rear diff bushes -Kartboy shortshifter -Whiteline shifter bushes -Whiteline Raised front roll center ball joints with new tie rod ends Also ended up getting a few more bits and pieces below that weren't on my orginal list: - Whiteline Transmission mount insert - Whiteline Transmission cross-member pad (bushes?) - Torque Solutions Driveshaft Carrier mount solid bushes - Nolathane front lower control arm bushes At the moment the NVH isn't too bad, I would say the only noticeable increase was from the pitch stop mount and this allows a lot more noise to resonate off the transmission during low gear acceleration. The transmission cross member pads also seem to have allowed a very very subtle "jet plane" like noise to come through into the cabin too. Overall so far the short shifter and strut bar mounts have been my favorite, but that could change once I've had a chance to install the sway bar kit. Considering a few more parts once I'm done but I should probably save the money and put it towards an after market exhaust (turbo back with silicon turbo inlet + tune $$): Cusco Brake cylinder stopper brace Cusco Rear floor power brace Cusco Rear cross member brace Would't mind doing a comparison if someone has a stock 2011-2014 WRX just to see the difference after all the mods
  15. Engine pitch stop install, rear subframe inserts and about to tackle spark plugs... Fun day really
  16. Bronze, was thinking of matte black to go with the pearl white but haven’t seen any others in the 5x100 stud pattern for sale
  17. p.s can't bring myself to peel off the blue protective plastic
  18. Yes - My11 Facelift - Premium (leather + sunroof) Tyres are decent - definitely something I won't cheap out on again (makes car useless the moment you try go a little bit fast) The raised lower ball joint / tie rod ends are supposed to help with bump steer but doing it more as the factory ones are starting to disintegrate and I'm preempting issues with the drop when I put the coil overs in. Will look at getting the Whiteline bump stop bushing kit once I've got everything installed and see how the car drives. Work Kiwami wheels were second hand but like new, actually the second pair I've had and on my second Subaru haha (V11 STI with chrome blue Kiwami). I'm guessing I might have to roll my guards, any places you guys would recommend? Will upload pics if I get home before dark For now here's a teaser of the rear strut bar install:
  19. Just bought a 2011 WRX Sedan Fitted some 18x9.5 Work Emotion Kiwami wheels last night and have just ordered: -Blitz Coil overs with front camber plates -Sti front and Cusco rear strut bar -Whiteline front and rear sway bar kit -Whiteline control arm brace -Cusco pitch stop arm -Whiteline Sub-frame/steering column/rear diff bushings -Kartboy shortshifter with bushings -Whiteline Raised front roll center ball joints with new tie rod ends What would you guys recommend to help get the alignment to decent spec and improve handling? Rear camber arms? Toe arms for front or back? Trailing arms? In terms of reinforcement, I'm looking at a lower control arm brace that links both sides but so far haven't due to shipping cost It's my daily driver, not a track car but I like having a good solid feel through corners. In terms of performance it has an upgraded larger top mount intercooler and intake with a tune for 98 gas, I have looked at a larger silicone turbo inlet and a full exhaust but can't justify the expense. Might just do a cat back (will I need to re-tune?) and call it a day as I'm ok with how it sounds now (the original exhaust is a little rusted however so theres an excuse to replace it ) Any ideas or experiences with what you guys have done that's made a good improvement? I'll be looking at upgraded brake pads and rotors in the next few months too P.s even a decent place to buy parts from, importing from the USA isn't my favorite choice
