  1. OK, awesome, thanks for the help. I'll see what I can do about the gauge and use those resources to get the plumbing as it should be. Here's the wastegate pic
  2. Hey Gripless, Thanks for getting back to me. While that pic has similarities with my set-up, it isn't the same so I'm kinda unsure about taking it as 100% relevant (as in, I don't know the source of that image and it isn't uncommon for car manufacturers to make slight changes over time). I'm really hoping that someone with a v4 STi will be able to help me out with some detailed pics... Or even better, I'd be super-keen to try and meet someone with a standard v4 STi so we could park them next to eachother and I can figure just what is missing/incorrect...it's hard to know what is wrong when you don't know how it should be. Good point about a boost reading but unfortunatley I don't have a gauge installed (part of the plan to get one if I can find a tasteful 3-gauge set-up for the empty area beneath the stereo). And it looks to have the standard wastegate. I'm only driving it very gently so won't be taking any chances until it is properly sorted. Cheers, Matt Hi boon, It seems to be running a standard wastegate actuator and wastegate. And yes, line 3 runs as a single line directly from the actuator to the solenoid; no Tee or anything. Cheers, Matt
  3. Hi everyone, After wanting to get one for years and years, I finally took the plunge and got myself a '98 STi Type R. It is a bit rough so I'm in the process of trying to clean it up and restore it back to standard spec. One of my recent discoveries is that the plumbing to the boost control solenoid is a bit suspicious...in the sense that I think the previous owner blocked/corked a line.. I had a look at a previous post (here) but the images used there don’t match up with the setup in my car. So is anyone able to comment on where these lines should go? Here’s a photo of my setup (sorry about poor quality, I am having trouble linking it from an external source): Line 1 is the one that is blocked/goes no where. Line 2 goes to the top of the intake plenum. Line 3 goes to the waste gate actuator. Line 4 goes to the intake pipe (after the air box but before the turbo). Am I correct in thinking that line 1 needs to be connected to the nipple on the turbo compressor? Picture of line 2
