  1. More often than not starting issues a re simple problems, so check the basics before you look into looms potentially being in the wrong way etc. Is the check engine light on? If the ECU is preventing the car from starting, it will most likely be on. Coils plug in on harness with black connectors for rear cylinders and grey connectors for front, injectors plugs are also colour coded in the same way Check the spark plugs are in good condition. It also sounds as if you have had some work done to the car recently, it will pay to back track over what was done and rule out things being put together differently. For example if you have had an auto to manual transmission conversion, the wiring side of things may not have been done properly.
  2. Check for leaks at master cylinder, at ABS pump, and at the brake hoses and replace as necessary. Bleed the brakes, check brake fluid level and quality and replace as necessary. Inspect ABS sensors for damage and replace as necessary.
  3. I can see the reason you want to change is to upgrade, but I have tried running wasted spark on an older ej20G setup and it was just a waste of money and time for me, especially trying to run the old ignitor. Mine had a miss fire which I could not get rid of until I went back to coil on plug.
  4. The TPS for v3-4 has one less wire than the v1-2 which is an idle switch. The car will run fine without it, but will throw CEL while you are idling. Depending on which power steering setup you are running you may need to change that, but just about everything else is bolt on and go. I wouldn\'t bother with wasted spark setup though, just use coil on plug
  5. Best shape for me goes to v10. I like the clean lines while retaining such a aggressive look. The angled headlights I think are the icing on the cake
  6. PM\'d you mate, I can do it for you if you like
  7. what would you like done?
  8. Try Simon Surfab Automotive Fabrication and Photography 6/5 Tanner St, Christchurch, NZ +64 27 315 0064 He is bloody good at what he does
  9. If you are sure the ICV was put together properly I would try changing the throttle position sensor. If that doesn\'t solve it, it could be that the replacement ICV was crappy too. Is it idling low or high at cold?
  10. I have done the V3/4 manifold swap onto a V2 WRX. I had to change the throttle cable and power steering pump as the old one was too fat to fit the under manifold intake on, but if you aren\'t changing to a straight inlet turbo that shouldn\'t be an issue. As far as I recall the only difference in the sensors was the TPS which will have one less wire than the V2 equivalent which is for the idle switch. You can wire it in without that wire and it will throw a CEL when you are idling but that is it. Before: After:
  11. I also have a set of early RS pistons here that have the L and R as you described (as below). These here are different and I am not quite sure why someone would go to the effort of putting old RS pistons in a later open deck. Possible I guess though
