  1. It would be interesting to have a engine hour counter fitted to the car and see how many hours the car engine actually does. I wonder how much they cost? are they easely fitted? Also could fit a engine warmer to reduce wear and car be easely started in the morning.

  5. I didnt see this posted here so thought I put it up. http://www.caradvice.com.au/116515/subaru-separates-impreza-from-wrx-sti/ With the launch of the fourth generation Subaru Impreza, the Japanese company will separate the Impreza model from the WRX and STI variants. Whilst the new 2012 Subaru Impreza naturally aspirated models will go on sale as soon as supply production from Japan is sorted, the WRX and STI variants will continue to be sold in the third generation shape for the forceable future. We believe the main reason is to create differentiation between the two models so that the WRX and STI variants can earn their status as unique sport models and not just halo models for the Impreza. The other reason is the new 2.0-litre boxer engine (pictured above), which Subaru currently has no plans to turbocharge. This means the EJ25 turbocharged engine (pictured below) currently in the WRX, STI, Forester XT/S-Edition and Liberty, is going to last a while longer before a replacement is found. The EJ design architecture is now over 20 years old but has been extensively modernised over the years and can still keep up and even outdo its competitors. Speaking to CarAdvice in New York, Subaru’s Impreza Product General Manager, Mr Akihide Takeuchi, said work on the replacement turbocharged engine has commenced but would not give any further details. He did confirm that it will not be based on the EJ25 and will not simply be a turbocharged version of the new boxer engine He said that the new boxer engine was designed with fuel efficiency and performance in naturally-aspirated application as top priority, making its design architecture less suitable for a turbocharger. Mr Takeuchi said that a decision on the future platform of the WRX and STI was due very soon. Talk of separation between the Impreza and its sport derivatives makes us wonder if we might see a two-door WRX/STI model in the future. On the surface this may sound like bad news for WRX/STI fans but it can indeed mean that future models will be built from the ground up to be sports cars as oppose to just being an Impreza with performance bits. In related news, talk of a hybrid Impreza is still on-going with Mr Takeuchi admitting that “hybrid is very important” as his company continues to study the technology for viability. Perhaps the next generation Impreza WRX/STI models will be turbocharged hybrids? Only time will tell. Let us know if you’d love to own a two-door WRX/STI!
  6. Have the house full off posion gas lol. If they break in they at least get very ill or maybe worse... Also it should sort out any rodent problems too
  7. Also it depends if the peticula model came in both... If it only came out in auto then you will need it certed etc. Take a example of a SVX. They never came out in manual. Theres no were really to put the clutch. You have to drill holes in the fire wall etc. Would Need to be checked over by a engineer.
  8. Man Im loving this verson more than the FT86II I want one It looks like a Minture Ferrai Got this info and pics off the FT86 club forum... Press Release: April 20, 2011 - New York - Scion unveiled the rear-wheel drive FR-S Concept sports coupe today at the 2011 New York International Auto Show. The concept, which sets out to stimulate the souls of true driving enthusiasts, will be at the Scion display through May 1. The FR-S Concept will inspire a new model coming to the Scion brand next year. The FR-S Concept, which stands for Front-engine, Rear-wheel drive, Sport; is Scion’s definition of an authentic rear-wheel-drive sports car with compelling style, exceptionally balanced performance and handling, flexible utility and surprising MPG. “Scion is always experimenting with new things,” said Jack Hollis, Scion vice president. “The brand is iconic with the xB, adrenalized by the tC, and groundbreaking with the iQ. The FR-S will expand the brand into yet another new dimension that I know it is truly destined for.” The FR-S is a true “scion,” born into a lengthy history of Toyota performance cars and motorsports. The sports coupe is most inspired by the AE86 generation of the Corolla, better known as the Hachi-Roku, meaning “8-6” in Japanese. The front-engine, rear-wheel drive coupe was lightweight and well balanced, making it a solid choice for driving enthusiasts. Inspired by the AE86, the FR-S is built around the core goal of achieving “pure balance,” which begins with the strategic placement of a flat 2.0-liter boxer engine in a front-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration. The engine’s compact size and shape allows the FR-S’ powertrain to be mounted lower and further back towards the rear, giving the car a lower center of gravity and a dynamically favorable front-to-rear weight ratio. The FR-S’ naturally-aspirated engine is innovative, being the first boxer to incorporate Toyota’s D4-S injection system, which utilizes both direct and port injection, resulting in increased horsepower and torque throughout the entire powerband, without sacrificing MPG. The flat-four can mate with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The manual offers quick and precise shifts with a short-throw, while the automatic transmission features aggressive, sporty shifts that are initiated by steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters. Power is distributed effectively via a limited-slip differential. The idea of “pure balance” is further realized by the FR-S’ lightweight design and short wheelbase. The combination allows the car to be quick and nimble into and out of any corner, with dynamic maneuverability and confident stability. “Akio Toyoda has mentioned that he is going to bring the fun-to-drive spirit back to Toyota,” Hollis said. “I know that the Scion FR-S Concept is one of the ways that he plans to accomplish that.” The fierce exterior of the FR-S is a good reflection of its inner power. The intimidating proportions of the concept give it a dominant stance that bleeds performance. The profile, inspired by the Toyota 2000GT, reveals a hood-line that is remarkably sleek and low, made possible by the boxer’s architecture. The low stance continues to exaggerate the FR-S’ menacing face, which is made up of sharp lines, a wide mouth and angular headlights that include bright LED clusters. The solid panel roofline is sleek, lightweight and rigid, slotted with an aerodynamic shape that channels air cleanly over to the top. The front fenders protrude upward, making space for the massive monoblock Five Axis 20x8.5-inch wheels, while the muscular rear fenders are widened to house the 20x10.5-inch wheels, emphasizing the FR-S’ staggered stance and rear-wheel-drive setup. The rear fascia sits low and wide, with extensive lower treatments that surround the dual exhaust exits and contribute to excellent aerodynamics. LEDs illuminate both the edgy taillights and the bold “SCION” logo. The concept features four-piston-caliper front brakes that clamp down on monstrous 18-inch annular carbon ceramic matrix rotors that are fixed to the wheels in a motorcycle-fashion. The FR-S Concept is layered in rich coats of Code Red, the appropriately named color that consists of a custom blend of candy and a developmental additive from BASF called Mearlite SSQ. Remarks from the 2011 NYIAS:
  9. A few years ago I tryed to get insurance on one of my other cars and AMI refused to insure me unless I moved all my other insurance to them too AA was cheaper too.
  10. I wonder how many insurance companys will even want to touch chch. Thing I heard was that they expect for Chch to still have descent aftershocks for the next 10 to 50 years ???
  11. LOL Mighty Car Mods Vinyl Stickers youtube vid features a SVX.
  12. I got 98 for my Suzuki Alto yesterday. As far as I know the fuel docks and storage is fully operating. Last I had heard the port was up to 95% operating capacity
  13. They were originally going to be fitted with a flat 4. Thats why they have a big engine bay but a little inline 4 filling the gap. Buy one and drop a subaru engine in one
  14. I prefer the 1st concept aswell. I beleave the Concept II is close to production verson. Most likely minus all the carbon fiber stuff. The bonnet is longer and higher conpaired to the original concept most likely to meet the pedressian crash stuff. Also the concept II is designed by a different design place. The white and black FT86 is the G sport verson and is a turbo model.
  15. Heres a wee Toyota promo vid for the FT86 II. Its a little GT5ish but its still cool showing off different colours and drifting etc... http://www.toyota-europe.com/innovation/design/concept_cars/ft_86_ii/index.aspx

  21. I beleave that was the one that was sold about 2 years ago on TM. It had the rear quarter glass and windscreem smashed. It was yellow. The Guy that owns it was able to find some 2nd hand replacements. But the Courier broke one of the quarter glasses. Never heard what happened after that.
  22. They actually 2.5 RX Legacys. I think they brought about 15 to 20 to use around NZ. Ive seen them around Hamner Springs. Also they were used along the Alpine Roads.
