So one day it the not too distant future I would like to do a rebuild of my ej207 2001. When the time comes how much money would I save by sourcing my own parts etc, compare to goin to a engine builder? Not looking to make crazy power, maybe high 200\'s. Like is it worth while? Also on a side note, if it goes together, and is tight to spin, it\'s possible that the smaller copper washer isn\'t seated properly, the one in my kit was tight. I had to give it some tapping with a socket and hammer. Then all was swell from there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Vf30 is way diff, rebuilt mine recently. Some parts are the same,but parts 8,5,2 etc don\'t exist on the 30. Not too keen to pull it off again to strip. But yeah as above follow your nose. Unless you live in chch, I can\'t be much more help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So thought that I would give my car a bit of a birthday before track day on tuesday, oil change, coolant and gave the whole car a wash including engine bay, now it\'s throwing the above code. Is it possible the code will go once water disperses or has it just buggered itself? Car still runs just fine, just engine light came on.

Hmmm maybe I gots it round the wrong way in terms of oil life, yeah I\'m not 100% sure on the 10w60 I mentioned, like wouldn\'t use as my daily that\'s for sure, but I\'m thinking with the added abuse might be good for a high k engine to still have some thickness at high heat. I\'m def not an expert on these things but yeah these are my thinkings.??

I usually use penrite 10w-50, my car has high k\'s. can\'t rate the stuff high enough, good oil full syn, and was on special at repco just last weekend for $48. Not sure if it still is though. But for track day I\'m gonna use a racing oil I got from agip, it\'s a 10w-60. Work paid for it, not that they know yet haha. Also a good thing to note not sure if it\'s been mention here yet, is the letters that come after the rating, further down the alphabet the better, but also dosnt last as long. Cause it will have more conditioning additives.
