  1. And there it is Century Batteries in my experience are crap I have tested NEW century against both Exide/Marshall and supercharge and they come up short every time
  2. well is it the same size as the battery that you took out, didnt cheap out and buy a smaller battery, these should have a NS70 or ZZ50 in them
  3. not sure how you got it to blow and it be unlocked What happens with the Viscous Couplings is that the Fluid in them overheats and goes solid, which effectively locks the diff, this can cause issues over time
  4. Mine was not a Subaru either BUT a Viscous diff is a viscous diff, a 10% variance seems to the rule of thumb, if you Understand how a Viscous diff works then you will be very cautious.
  5. Any AWD vehicle that runs a Viscous Centre Diff, comes with this warning, I have seen it in the user manual for Subaru also A 100 series landcruiser, an AWD Hiace and just recently in the use manual of our AWD Mitsi Rosa. So not a "Subaru" thing just a Viscous thing
  6. Obviously you have never had a centre diff seize because of running new tyres on one axle with worn on the other, I have and it cost my $5k to fix upto you though its your car do as you want
  7. Try WAIMAKS he is Keltics mate he has one gsr I know and maybe some spare bits
  8. Done this to try and sort my fueling issue Thats the hole where this came from And that is as far as I got, bloody work interfering with my cars
  9. Removed the fuel tank from the RX, will give it a good clean out today, trying to fix a fueling issue, new pump and relay and still same issue, there was some crap in the tank so i am hoping that it was blocking the pickup
  10. if you dont have a spanner big enough, 32mm I have even used a pair of stilsons, works very well. And as said they have a lock washer so "nipped" up is tight enough
  11. Brought these to fit to the ......... take a guess
  12. Yeah not overly keen on welding on a fuel tank may have to though
  13. Got my 89 brumby running reliable on an auxiliary fuel tank, pretty much confirms my fuel pick up is blocked in the tank, not sure how I am going to fix it to be honest, no real ports in the tank, one very small one on the opposite side to the pickups for the sender unit, maybe tank out and replacement tank or just run a fuel tank in the bed
  14. http://www.catherineandken.co.uk/sti/wrx.html it is easy to say a WRX is this type or that type the chassis number/type number will answer all
  15. *whistles quietly to himself as he works on his rust free brumby* heheeeh
  16. I run a Detroit Locker in one of my buses one thing for sure is that they are a noisy wee thing in operation, other than that very fail safe locker
  17. Fitted new tires and factory foglights also installed new fuel pump
  18. put new tires on the rx,found it has a crook fuel pump, now trying to source one, sounds like i may be able to get one from Subaru out of japan, if they have stock. may see if there is any aftermarket ones that fit
  19. Yeah I would say it has only the wiring it needs so no window wiring in there.
  20. http://www.airplex.co.nz/subaru/forester/2002-05-mk1-sg.html
  21. Didnt work on the RX had to fit 2 hotdogs and then just barely legal
  22. I doubt it it does say must have some visible means of noise reduction try it and see ( have not as yet found a car that is below 95db with no muffling)
  23. YUP same as above, Although I have never owned a WRX let alone a STi, i have had Subarus for 20 years, the only time I have had issues is when I was being a dick Also make sure it is not tinted so dark that it MAY be illegal, it is not to low as to look like it may be illegal, it is not to loud as it may be illegal, see where I am going with this, if you dont what police attention, never mind what you drive make sure it is obviously on the right side of legality and dont drive like a dick
  24. buy a commercial vehicle then anything behind the driver can be what ever my hilux rears are about 10%
