  1. Al, hello! It has been a while since my last one... I shall come along indeed.
  2. Hmmmm I might have to pop along and see whats going on.
  3. Considering when the V3 was made it in 1996 it produced peak power of 276 bhp (205 kW) @ 6500 rpm off the factory line, and it is now 17 years old. I would say unless you have done some serious mods to the car 220 would be an amazing result. Also the V3 is a great building block car capable of huge numbers if loved properly and money spent in the right places.
  4. Yeah something a bit closer to home for me considering I will have the new fiancé with me :-)
  5. Lol madmike!!! It has been way too long!!!
  6. Rather short stay this time... In Thursday morn out sunday with a funeral in the middle :-/
  7. Popping back for a bit... I miss Denny's too much!!!
  8. Here it is finally... just on warm up and the screaming fuel pump!
  9. Still just a vf22... We don't have an actual figure as the dyno tuner refuses to do a power run on the current motor not knowing the internals, like the crank... Which we now do know is fully forged so a power run is in order in the not to distant future. My pick though is around low 200's anything else is in achievable on a 22 I think. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=-33.879950,151.186494
  10. Oh btw the faulty thermostat was actually a loose vacuum hose :-/ lol
  11. Eastern creek was the place to be last Thursday the long time coming coupe made its debut back on the track and by all accounts it is extremely well designed. The day was in question up until 11pm the night before... Where we had found an oil leak coming from the sump the week before but due to time and work I couldn't look at it any sooner. So since the sump was coming off... It was decided to quickly buy in a tomei sump baffle and stiffening plate. Thanks to a lazy arse courier somewhere between QLD and Sydney it arrived late wednesday afternoon. Off came the sump (till now we have not touched the sump) off came the oil plates and we were greeted by a very new and very shiny razor edged crank now that we know what is at the bottom of the engine I am much more at ease about running higher pressures, and tweaking the ecu a bit more. The new baffle and plate are incredible and as you would expect from tomei they are precise beyond belief!!! Thursday rolled around and saw the drivers brief start at 830, laptop in hand I clambered into the car and turned it over... Watching the beast warm up and come to life slowly shaking the limiters off at 50, 55, 60 degrees 61 degrees appeared and the laptop lit up with green lights and my right foot hit the gas to the floor... To say she roared is a massive understatement lol... The whole workshop shook and we suddenly had heads popping around corners of the pit garage. The chart read some close to 3000rpm begin spool 3500 18psi (full spool) 7500rpm 17.8psi all I could do was laugh!! I hopped out yelled at my brother "she's ready" the rest of the day was pretty much spend getting used to the new power delivery... It comes on fast and steady but then holds it perfectly. All in all very happy!!! Now to start on the 2.7 for when we blow this engine. Final power figures are not set yet as we are still tuning and probably going to swap a few things around but it is very close to what we wanted out of this original engine Some pics from the day... --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=-33.888180,151.157096

  13. Picked up the car... Now taking car back :-/ faulty thermostat has stuffed the mapping. Due to the size of injectors and manifold (and going back to pump gas) we have had to do away with the ICV and compensate with enrichment till it runs at temp... Operational temp is only between 70 and 90 degrees... Not much esp when the thermostat is poked. More on this once we fix it.
  14. Car spend 8 hours on the dyno today... Going back on tomorrow. Have had to make a few fundamental changes :-/ so really unsure on the outcome, especially since we have had to revert to pump gas
  15. Process west are finishing the radiator header tank today and then pushing it into our tuners shop for the dyno The end is so close!!!
  16. Well its been a while. Progress has been made on latest project... Taking longer than expected but hey it's just waiting for the final tune now. Will post pics and dyno sheet, along with final specs soon.

  18. Update currently... It is pretty much ready for the dyno... Will post pics soon.
  19. So the bonnet is on... I think the panel beater got a little too happy with the grinder.
  20. Funky... The car is ex GTP class here in aus so has a number of tough bits in the box but not fully forged... As class rules didn't allow it.
  21. Yup dog box would be very nice but at 8 grand it can wait
