  1. yeah the ruber bit on the crank pully was nackered... i was wondering about that from the moment i saw it... good we got it sorted and great that you had a parts car sitting round lol... i normally dont like using the starter to losen the crank pully bolt as ive heard it can make the cambelt jump teath, but on this occation we had no choice... (damn automatics) took a bit of doing too but got there and car is going so alls well that ends well glad i could help Dunedin Road-Side Rescue Crew Saves Another Life...!

  5. i have been worried about the same thing... but if you are careful when you open it you should be fine... mine whistles when i hit 180 even if its closed

  7. as a matter of fact i do have one laying around, had run a bearing previously and so was ground down a little... i didnt use it as the bearings i ordered were no good... so found a new (2nd hand but as good as new) one... you pay for postage and its yours
  8. as with any car, if you wind up the boost you could have issues... the manufacturer set the boost for a reason... although having said that my gtb was boosting 17psi for a quite a while before i knew found out that was a massive amount of boost for a non sti and still drives fine (even with the cel coming on all the time - damn knock sensor) when i say "still drives fine" i suspect it was pretty shot but has since been sold so i dont care lol
  9. i assume you need a slanty one due to the angle fo your intake? why not replace with v3/v4 intake? then use a factory sti IC? its possible im talking thru a hole in my arse having little to no experence with v1/v2
  10. clearences have been checked and long block is together... no pics at this stage unfortunatly.. everything should be getting bolted on tomorrow and in the car tomorrow/tuesday... WOOP WOOP cant wait! ill post up a full parts list and step by setp once im done...
  11. although it only takes one bannered car to lost traction/rev att he nights/ in some cases even be out on a friday/saturday night to accoicate us with the "bad boy racers" in some cases i think it better for us to keep a low profile

  20. some of you may know ive been planing to move to Chch for a while now... as of 5pm yesterday i have secured a job installing audio visual and security systems aswell as selling sky and part time on-air More Fm. so will me moving to Christchurch on the 31st March. BEB's fail due to lack of oil (or as my understanding) so if u keep your oil delervery in good nick youllbe fine... you can baffel the sump to stop the oil sloshing around and starving the engine during cornering. next weakest like? clutch, but once thats upgraded, your gearbox... youll lose 2nd gear on an agreasive launch with a heavy duty clutch easy, would pay to look at replacing your clutch when u do your engine anyway... its easy to do while the block is out

  24. all parts ordered from Liam arrived today as well as the bearings... pulled apart the heads, cleaned the valves ane ported the heads...
