  1. The most appropriate one is leaving 8:00 am. Unless you want to cross at 2:00 am ... :-\
  2. You wanna take the 91 over .... you know what it needs ;D I've also got a Coupe here that could do with some Subaru love ....
  3. BER - Beyond Economic Repair or simply f***ked
  4. I wonder if this is more about the Blenheim Road branch in Christchurch? Like X I have had a great experience with two of the one's in Wellington area. Spoke to the manager initially about what I wanted and he delivered beyond initial expectations. Having said that I understand how you feel ... following a bad experience at Farmers department store it took 23 years before I stepped back into one and told 100's of peeps about how I felt about them and why in between times ... ;D The customer can get revenge as you are the greatest marketing opportunity (or not) they have.
  5. Try Sub-A-Roo in Hamilton, they are also club sponsors. I got some bits send down to Welly and they were good to deal.
  6. Hell I had a simpler rule .... If it looks like its gonna hit me I give way to it. Works for me, minimizes road rage and means no dents.
  7. Agreed,it has been highly entertaining and informative on a number of levels since it started, however ... Now its time to move on to other more positive things.
  8. Starter motor crapped out yesterday so off to Pick-a-part this morning to get a replacement. Installed and all running again ... YES ;D
  9. Hopefully that VF8 should last for another event. At which i should have my VF28 off and ready to be sold. Good to see that the clutch change went smoothly. Did you take the engine out like previous said? Engine out. Still might need the VF28 by then. Me and VF8's just don't get on. Manfield 4th Feb, will see if this on lasts. Good luck with the wiring challenge, when your done pop over and do the GT too
  10. It's a subbie, they're never finished, you should know that by now :-\
  11. Been a good few days over the break; The 89 RS has had the drivers side out CV boot replaced, oil & filter change and a couple of local cruises just for fun. 8) The 91 GT has had the new tires (Dunlop Direzza Z1S Starspec) put on for a bit of a test drive followed by dash cluster change removing the auto and replacing with manual dash and integrating a 240 km/h speedo and followed today with a new clutch and turbo change. The third VF8, will see how long this one lasts, but not counting on very long based on my past experiences. Looking for a VF23, VF28 or TD05. 8) Also had a couple of local cruises with the 91. Thanks to DCVR, Steve, Hamish & Rob for their help today. Getting things ticked off the list ... two more biggish things to go ... front mount and G3 Link install. The rest of my list is smaller items such as gauges etc.
  12. That sucks, hopefully you get it back. I agree, so quickly stolen suggests a connection to the previous owner (friends/associates etc?).
  13. Beats the $1.5M Monte Carlo one easily .... "About $3.5 million worth of supercars and luxury coupes from the 1980s to today - and a Toyota Prius - were damaged in the crash." What was the Prius doing in the middle of a super car cruise ..... ;D
  14. Subaru should have a big warning sign on the bloody switch ... Here only for cosmetic reasons, do not touch me!!!!!
  15. Bazza had some rust removed form the rex a few weeks back from Just Rust ... check how he got on. Blair Wright did my old Telstar when someone ran into it and did a primo job, but expensive, thank god for insurance cover. I also had R S Lane, Petone do some work to, just can't remember what. Panel & paint is usually something you get what you pay for, unless you know someone qualified who can do perkies, even then painting is best done with the right facilities available.
  16. +1 Talk to the people that can match your car, performance expectations, driving style and price.
  17. Wildturkey & myself have booked into Playday on Track at Manfield in November.
  18. Sounds like a good outing ... now which car should I take? We are such a small insignificant part of the planet, maybe I should just take both 8)
  19. It's just a Playday, nothing flash like you others get up to ... at R&T etc. My interest is two fold, firstly get to know the track a bit better and get some better lines and secondly to get to know the 91 GT a bit better as it drives so differently to the 89 RS. Hardly surprisingly given he changes made to it. Have joined the Trainer Driving so very quiet in morning, no helmet needed even just looking at lines .. then in the arvo can go out an put some of the mornings learning into practice. Would love to be able to nail Dunlop into the front straight as I think that would improve my front straight speed and therefore times.
  20. Just to hijack this back to the original in case someone hasn't seen where to meet ..... We are going to try another new venue this Month. I have heard that the food etc is good. Numbers of people attending would be good so I can ring and give them a "heads up" to expect a certain number. End of Month meet for August. Venue: 1841 Cafe & Bar, Restaurant Time: 7.30pm Due to parking issues by 1814, we will park by Nandos in Johnsonville Mall and walk over. Look forward to catching up with everyone. Note from Darren "copied from Megameet DVD thread" ok wellington members I will be going to the ''end of month thursday night meet'', so if you have made an order let me know and i will take them with me on thursday night! so if there are any other people in welly that want 1, if you order now, i can have them done to give them out on thursday night. Now normal transmission can resume ... where were we .. ahh Mermaids

    RS grille?

Hmmm .... my 89 RS is silver with sensor and 91 GT is black without sensor. Both are stock in regards to WAIC.
  22. Just in case your wondering we already have a demonstration car to work on. Going to do front and back struts. Hmmm think I'll be there. ;D
  23. After having a flat battery went over the Heywards for a bit of a trip instead of into town, only problem was followed a house moving as well! Got to the Hutt side and it turned right, not wanting to follow it any more I did a u turn and went back over it again towards Porirua. lol Might have to find time for a run in the weekend.
