  1. titan vs subaru http://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&persist_app=1&v=NQkgmHEA5_E
  2. +1 but if you dont decide on sas, paul at caraid will do right by you
  3. i\'ve been driving round on a tune from apet for the last 12months and it hasnt missed a beat and ive got arguably one of the most modified bd5 legacys around. i was very skeptical at first as over last 8 years steve sinclair at re sinclair, phil at nzefi and gotasuby are the only three people i had ever let touch my car tune wise but overall apet done a good job. my personal opinion though is steve sinclair is one of the best tuners in south island if your ever in the canterbury region
  4. you could come round and have a look at mine sometime if you wanted, could probably also help do the flipped manifold when your ready
  5. best way i found was to wire a hidden switch up to the fuel pump relay and never had issue with it. over 8 years now and never had my car stolen/broken into and have 4 lots of security depending on where its parked or left. 1st is steering wheel lock. 2nd is avs 5 star alarm. 3rd is hidden kill switch and 4th is a active gps unit to track it if first 3 fail. genuinely i always just use one and two but if its really dodgy area i put on the kill switch and has never annoyed me remembering to turn switch back on
  6. well done both of yous, seen the photo with the trophy\'s, wicked keep up the great work
  7. +1 back on topic mine can also be removed as ive upgraded the engine and power in last several months and still waiting on finalizing tune
  8. got couple drive shaft loops installed and passed cert today after the last round of mods, stoaked
  9. ive run some gizzmo 8mm spacers for last 3 years and they do a good job stopping the transfer of heat, ive read the same that the 3-4mm are abit to thin
  10. here\'s a few new pics, just sorting the bov ready to be plumbed back into the intake and few other small things for re cert and to tidy up the engine
  11. ive done abit of logging of the iat over last few years usually doing back to back highway pulls or on a rolling road dyno, with the fmic alone it was 12-15degree over ambient. with a 300cc meth nozzle with 50/50 mix it was 8-9degrees over, with 100%meth it was 10-12 degrees now with a 600cc nozzle with 50/50 mix and a external fmic sprayer im getting consistant 5-6degrees over ambient so glad its getting down
  12. glass blasted the brakes, powdercoated blue then rebuilt them, had one stuck pot in the front. new pads and rotors all round. installed the new bc gold adjustables
  13. on thursday got the wastegate all welded up then today bolted turbo and everything back together. finished off the 12L boot tank filled it with methanol. baffled the catchcan with some 12mm tube with ten 5mm holes drilled out of it, then plumbed back to intake with a evac fitting as well as a road draft tube with a one way valve, all in the rain but had to get it done so can tune the 2.2 engine properly this week see how it goes. few months ago on the run in tune on rolling road it achieved 210kw atw on 12-13psi so have high hopes when it gets a power tune in the 20-25psi range
  14. im guessing your front mount with the twisted turbo setup and is it a water-cooled turbo, i managed to pick up a aftermarket top tank for fifty few years ago and relocated it to where the top mount use to be, never had any problems with it and gets some airflow through the scoop. just make sure its at a similar height and preferably not attached to the intake manifold. before the rotated turbo i had the factory top tank setup on the left where the alarm siren/map sensor is.

    tuning

id say for best price and service go see steve at re sinclair in christchurch, other person to talk to is gotasuby.
  16. +1 on the dccdpro used for few years now works perfect
  17. +1 and bit cheaper than the pbms controller, jeff at dccdpro is good guy to deal with
  18. upgraded the 4l engine mounted meth injection tank to a 12l boot mounted tank, ordered the twinscroll sump, pickup etc will be here by the weekend, sorted a date for the power tune hoping the 2.25 breaks the 300kw mark easier than old 2.0
  19. ive run coolingmist setup for few years now and had good results. best was a 27kw atw gain on same boost just getting tuner to adjust afr and bit more timing for the 50/50 meth water mix, definately one of the better mods. do get the new designed nozzles over the older brass agricultural ones as the atomization is way better
  20. picked up the heads from machinist all ready to bolt on, got the engine mounts in the mail today not to bad took just over a week to arrive
  21. got valve covers alternator bracket etc back this morning after being powder coated black, pretty good quality for a freebie. engine goes together this week
  22. yeah definately, will have to get a drive able tune to get it back up though
  23. got the engine out with dubbedup all ready for the ej22 to go in next week
  24. heres a few engine shots of the legacy as it is at the moment, over the next 4-5 weeks itll get changed and modded quite bit with all new stainless brackets being made up,600cc meth nozzle, bigger intercooler piping, map sensor, crankcase venturi system, open downpipe for the track and things just getting changed around in general also boost bumped up from 23 to 26-28
