It's the solenoid for the charcoal canister. You can just block it off. -
Bypass or ecv. The ecv may need to be adjusted back.

I've had the same problem Reuben. It is not nice having the gear lever coming up when you try to change gear! I got a slightly smaller circlip from BNT and it's been sweet as.

In my limited experience with the BG model, they are far more prone to understeer than the BH.
