Im got different thoughts to the other guys, get the dealer to fix it, but do get a second opinion on the damage (not a backyard mechanic) plus an agreed repair process before you start. That way you end up with a new car with a new engine, whats to say you don\'t go and buy another one and get the same issue 4-6months down the track and its out of dealer warranty. Providing it was fixed right, you should be problem free (which they have to sort anyway if you get any in the first three months) and it will have better resale value (with receipts) in the future. I saw that car on TM, worth keeping in my opinion, rare at nz new to. My 2c anyway.

I think you will need to cut the roof off or fill the floor with concrete change the centre of gravity on that thing

Out of the countless Subarus ive had since, this was top of the list (easily). Not just because it had gobs of power, though now there is plenty with more, but because it was so well set up. Would be nice to get it back, but im not desperate for it, would be do a rebuild and a few other bits and pieces by now.

Id be grateful if some one could get an up to date photo or the number of the guy that owns it, I could be keen to buy it back if I had the opportunity.

How do the old b5 rs4s compare to the b7 ones? other than age and v8 vs turbo, is one known to better than the other?

Everything you have said is bang on. For a twenty minute bit of fun sti all the way, for 1.5hrs plus or regular commuting Audi by a long shot. I agree with running costs though, theres always this terror in the back of your mind that something is about to cost you 4k plus, which is about 2k for the same thing in an sti. As im now getting older and do bugger all kms, kids etc mine next nice car will probably be an audi s4, though will certainly compare against a v9 sti at the same time

Fixed it for you Great cars if you spend most of your time in traffic or puddling around town. Get on our "proper" roads and they are rubbish.

So the problem was that there was stones jammed between the the top of the shock and where it fits onto the car, seems like the little bolts up there are a bit long and dont let stones out once theres a few in there. pain in the arse of a spot to. Also had a sway bar link replaced. Still got another one to do as well i think. Better now anyway.
