  1. V12 for me. When the V11 hatch came out, I was disgusted. Then the sedan came out, it\'s getting closer. But when the STI came out with the pumped up gaurds which were carried over to WRX in V12, I was sold. Classy yet aggro exterior, interior that I thought was well up with the Mercs etc, beautiful wheel design, Brembo brakes, 6 speed box, all the things I loved from my V7 but with so much more. Me and Wifey loved them so much that she had a V12 WRX sedan as her wedding car. And that thing scared the fuck out of me in a standard form! I have already explained to the head of sales at Armstrong that he needs to make sure he has his phone on on Sunday mornings coz I will be ringing him for one straight after having the Lotto ticket confirmed.
  2. Moved to Blenheim from Christchurch... was a good one. Spilled my coffee while getting up to hold tv. Otherwise fine.
  3. And have some kero on hand in case you spill the resin. I also approve of the hot shower technique. Best way after running cable in a batted ceiling. And remember, once you get your fibre glass technique down, you can move on to carbon fibre!
  4. Also, don\'t forget to rough up the reverse side of it before you lay resin. And I mean get quite aggro with it. I usually attack it in a cross hatch pattern with a knife. The resin needs something to mechanically bind with and the mental scratches work ace.
  5. Take out half the bulbs? Or what about wiring in a variable resistor to the power feed?
  6. Here to help? You did nothing but abuse others on your Facebook page purely because they called your wagon an RS. Best of luck to your "$140,000" race car.
  7. Wouldn\'t a track day void a warranty from dealer? Or is that just insurance?
  8. By only painting the flat surfaces and leaving the concave section reflective, it didn\'t have any untoward side effects. Oh wait, yes there was. Remember to use some wax and grease remover after you have removed the masking tape. The adhesive residue made it quite dull and I had to pull them apart again to clean them.
  9. I did this to my BC5. I just put the lights in the oven until the glue goes tacky and take glass off. Then remove the shiny plastic you want to make black. Paint. Reassemble. Back in oven to soften glue again. Squeeze together with a clamp. You can also see that I did my indicators the same and removed the orange plastic piece. Just use a bulb that goes orange. All lights and indicators only took a couple of hours to do.
  10. I am just excited to be mentioned in a thread where I did not have any input. I would like to thank the Academy, God, Mom and Dad, and all my supporters out there.
  11. Hey man, I had dreadful fuel economy in my BC5 when I first bought it. Was 2 full tanks from Auckland to Blenheim. I found that by replacing the very crappy aftermarket sponge unifilter with a genuine panel filter in factory airbox, the fuel economy improved quite a bit. I also fitted a V2 STI ECU and found that it improved even more, even though it has a "more aggressive" map. I can only assume that the change from 8 bit ECU to 16 bit ECU helps the issue as well as a further 5 years of tuning from factory.
  12. So does this mean that all officers now have to do an automotive mechanics course? And carry a jack in the boot?
  13. I also tried that. Re-lubed the bastard yesterday and it\'s still naff. Time for new motor.
  14. So for the majority of vehicles on NZ roads, it\'s business as usual. I just hope that most drivers who will require an annual one, still get a "look over" inspection done when they take it in for the 6 month service.
  15. I probably do need a new motor but every single front passenger motor in BC5s have done the same thing so they want far more than my Jewish ass is willing to pay. Hence new grease and hope for the best.
