  1. Thanks man - arranged that today.. got it trucked in this PM. Interestingly, they just had the exact same thing last month! Hope it doesn't happen to the other side... especially at speed.
  2. Hi Guys, I'm in need of a quick/easy answer :-) (hopefully there is one) Dad's '06 Lagacy 3.0R B (95kms, facelift, auto, sedan) snapped the top off the front left srtut on his way home tonight - the threaded portion and the nut are sitting loose in the top hat!!! What's my fastest solution? He's going to call Sublab Whangarei in the morning, but he needs the car for a long trip on Friday. Can he fit standard struts in place of the Bilsteins and keep the same springs etc? In all honestly, he'd probably prefer softer ride anyway. A lot of the internet info refers to USDM cars, which are different. He can't drive it now, so if there is an easy solution, I'll do it at his place for him. Any help appreciated! Allan.
  3. It's easier than you'd think! You don't have to pull the engine - they are about half way down on either side - you can probably see with a torch - they stick out about 5-7mm normally. Is it the same engine you pulled out, or another one? If it's the original they should be in the same place as before. But yeah, put the torque convertor on the trans side. Try to line one hole in the flex plate up with the hole in the block, then do the same with the torque convertor. Once that bolt is in (not totally tight) you can turn over the engine to the next one. put them all in, then tighten them all up - don't miss any! Good luck!
  4. There is a "spigot" on either side - a pin in one housing or the other - sometimes the pin sticks in the engine, sometimes in the box. If there are two on one side (one in box, one in engine) they won't go together - not without WAY too much force! If theres two, punch one out :-) Allan.
  5. Sorry - Late reply, dredging up an old thread: The MPFI impreza engines I have seen had a spot for the dizzy - just needed the cover unbolted. I think all the early SOHC engines did :-) Allan.
