  7. Hey does anyone happen to have any contact details for the user FIGJAM? I bought some rims off him earlier in the year, put them on last week and went to get an alignment and balancing, turns out the 2 left hand rims are bent. $700 for the rims $480 to get them working :'( Notice he hasn't posted in a while so it might be a bit fruitless.
  8. Hey yo, any tips. I recently noticed that there looks to be brake fluid leaking out the firewall side of the MBC and down the black circle thing its attached to. Im trying to pick up a brake cylinder brace to minimize this but do you think this could be a major? Will post pics shortly. V7 wrx sti 01
  9. yeah its from the hatch catalogue, but its in the legacy and foz catalogue too. Id say it would work with any car. tbh the hatch isnt that bad looking.
  10. Mates evo had the same issue, we had tried to figure it out for literally months while at pukekohe and taupo. Turns out the new pads he had were too high end and not able to seal with the heat generated, the glue? compound in the pads were leaving resin on the discs. By this stage we had tried just about everything but the pads. (doh) Replaced the endless pads (cant remember which ones) with less hardcore version, problem solved. although in your case sounds like warp/not alligned brakes/rotors. have you tried bleeding your brakes latley uncase theyre not applying pressure uniformly?

  12. Hey guys, If this is out of place please delete or move to the appropriate sub forum. My mate who own SoundAround is having a wicked deal on window tinting for a short time. Long story short you can get your whole car tinted with 5-20-35% for a short time for $199 (usually $399) My mates just had his whole tinted with 35% and its looking awesome. Being done through Tint A Car contractor so you know its quality. http://www.soundaround.co.nz/shop/sound-around-tints/sedan-vechile-tints

  14. tried calling motorplus to discuss that it says its broken. but hitting a brick wall. saying that because the syncros have been worn and are now failing any subsequent damage will not be covered. not sure where to go from here.

  16. mad would be intereste on hearing a fuller story here cause of the rediculasness going on here. still waiting for that FKN report. if i needed my car id be getting really upset by now.
  17. I should have a full accurate quote tomorrow so will keep you all informed.
  18. UPDATE: I spoke to that company doing the inspection and rebuild I had been misinformed as the work had not been done at this stage. Turns out (i forget everything that was said) but i need to have all syncros replaces, as well as the teeth on the dog box are worn down and bent over beyond repair. Im waiting for the official quote for the replacement parts. Apparently the bits i need replacing are not sold separately so i need to buy an like set of parts. Some info/advice from ichiban would be greatly appreciated D: Does anyone have any contacts who may be able to get gearbox bits cheap?
  19. yeah in this case labour and parts arnt my gripe (well it really is ) its that fking inspection thats killing me.
  20. Right so long story short, decided to get my 5th gear syncro replaced cause it was for lack of a better word, "borked". I thought aah sweet, while im not needing to drive for a while il get it replaced with my warrenty...or so i thought. Gearbox was taken out by Wingers and sent off to an "independant gearbox specialist". Im then told by the warranty company "driverite/autosure" that no, this will not be covered as (although it was only 5th) its normal "wear and tear". I now have to pay for the gearbox to have been inspected. For the gearbox to be put back in and while at it I it was advised to look at replacing the clutch (107k on the clock). Now that you know the story, whats your views on the pricing, $2950+gst for the inspection and syncros. $645+gst for wingers to put the box back in. $850+gst for a new clutch and bits for thhe clutch. Anyone have any experience on this and know weather for instance I can get my car towed to another shop and get the box sent there if its cost effective? PS Auckland, otherwise id be in to see ichi ban

  23. i had the exhaust installed by hyper originally, so im now missing all the needed bolts and have no idea if they even kept all the parts from the heat shield + i have no idea how where or how im suppose to modify it let alone how to get it back on since they've taken it off. sigh
