  1. I had an issue with the dccd in my type R a wee while back with the light flashing at me too if I tried to move the dial. Ended up just being a dirty connection in the plug to the dial, cleaned that up with contact cleaner and a wee scrub up and away it went again.
  2. Did the parts come through a company over in germany or was it random 22b second hand parts that happened to be in Germany? Am still needing some parts for mine and possibly an option if theyre cheaper than new sti prices.
  3. I had an allignment done on my car like that too, I hated it. felt like the ass end was swinging around in the corners. the guy reckoned it would help reduce wear on the tires. Went to another place for an allignment in another town and got it changed back. Car felt way more settled.
  4. Factory boost on my ver 4 was 15-16 psi. Never ran it over 18 but those couple extra pounds make a good diff. Should be hitting full boost by 3-3200rpm too if it has the vf24 on it still.
  5. Yeah I don\'t like their interiors either on the later evos, the dash setup doesn\'t look right to me at all.I\'d have a ver8/9 STi any day.
  6. Yeah it sure was on there for too long, but I guess good things take time. Wasn\'t gonna just give it away either. New owner was happy as soon as he saw it too. People mite see it round chch ways now.
  7. sold my car today. Almost shed a tear seeing it go but its time for someone else to care for it and all those 100 dollar bills cheered me up nicely ;D, Now to focus on me other subie
  8. Call it your retirement fund. Buy it, hold onto it for 20+ years and cash in $$$$
  9. another local here, just don\'t get on here often.
  10. Trickiest for me was undoing the turbo bolts. They can seize up real goood. I fitted a rage 2.5" and straight bolt up, and just used a steel hose clamp to hold the cat sensor onto the outside of the exhaust.
  11. I just drove past this car today. Guys had the bonnet up looking at it. looked like a tidy car from what I saw of it. Dunno who owns it tho
  12. A mate had his catch can mounted on the firewall on passengers side down low. had plenty of room in there to fit one. He also had a front mount so was easier to get to.
  13. Been there done that. then try giving it a clay bar then cut and polish and wax after that. took me all week lol.
  14. I had a 2.5" system on my rex. Had a rage siamese downpipe with my own built straight through stainless mid an rear section and a rage 4" tip muffler. Could set off car alarms while driving down the street lol ;D Found the packing had all blown out of the muffler after 5 years of use. Replaced the muffler and is at a nice level now. If you go stainless piping it will be a raspier note to it. It resonates more than mild steel pipe.
  15. New windscreen installed today. I can see clearly now
  16. Yeah the logistics of getting all the gear in there for an international event would be a bit difficult to arrange but wouldnt it be sawesome if they did have a supercar event there. I cant wait for the kart track to open at end of this year there, cos I'll be definately going to race on it
  17. It started off as just a normal wash on the sunday, but then as you do it blows out of proportion and I ended up giving it the full clay bar, cut polish and wax job. Paint looks sooooo shiney On to the interior now

John at Spec Performance is a good man to talk to in CHCH also. Ive had a few mates deal with him in various types of cars and he managed to give them good results, nice guy to deal with to.
  19. there is bp in cromwell and it used to have 98, but since the earthquake they havent had it. just normal old 95. Gutted they dont cos I always topped up the car b4 I went home.
  20. Took the blue beast out to see the daylight and ran it up for an hour. pumped up its tires and put it back under cover again Need to get some momentum back on the rebuild
  21. I vaguely remember that u had a car with stickers all over ya doors there dog, does that not count? haha. Those bushes were a bloody pain to replace alrite. Lucky I was doin the clutch at the same time when I had a crack at replacing mine.
  22. Winterfest is an awesome week up there, soo many good memories haha :
  23. Sup guys. Thought I'd put my 10cents worth in Names Paul, I'm a third of a century old now, Iv'e had a fair few jobs since school but have spent most of my career being a sheetmetal worker. Being in my trade I've always had mates that have kept me busy working on cars, from evos to a severely modded starlet drag car. Ive also helped out build speedway bikes and built a couple of karts up ( one with my yzf250 engine and current kart has a wankel 250cc rotary) Its only been in the last few years that I have been able to find time to work on my own projects, but only just haha. I've only owned the 2 subies I have now, My type R I've had for nearly 6 years and the 22b bout 1.5yrs now, but have been around subies since high school days with various mates owning them. I don't know everything but I have learnt ALOT by having to do it.
