  1. Any of these STI ecus will be a better/more aggressive upgrade over the standard WRX V1-2 ecu, especially with the TD05. But keep in mind the yellows & orange didnt come around till V3+ so it wont run them to their full potential? (correct me if im wrong). SA (STi chipped) - 1993/1994 STi SB (STi chipped) - 1993/1994 STi RA 6K (STi mapped, but not Chipped) - 1995/1996 STi 7K (STi mapped, but not Chipped) - 1995/1996 STi RA I managed to get an SA for mine & it made a nice noticeable difference but im still using the factory grey/green combo.
  2. Thanks, You guys were on the money. I had visually checked all the connections before posting but after going back & actually trying to moving each connector I found 1 not tightened. Seems to have fixed the issue.
  3. ive done a search & havent come up with the answer im after. Ive got a v2 wrx & have just fitted a fmic. As i was fitting it I thought it was strange that the bov seems to have changed sides but looked at a few v2s on the net & they all seem set up the same way. I started it up & it idled fine for a couple of minutes, however after a quick test drive as i put my foot on the gas the car had no power (no boost) & then started running like a dog & puffing dirty black smoke. (Its similar to when a bov comes off while driving) So what i want to know is - on the V2 do i need to have the bov back on the turbo side? or is this probably another issue.....
  4. the ecu arrived today. Its one of the 200 sti chipped ecus (SA 00070). Plugged in & taken car for test drive. Probably the cheapest & easiest upgrade ive ever made!!! The only noticeable "issues" I can tell so far between the MT/AT ecu is: The Power button doesnt seem to work anymore. It does idle slightly higher in neutral but only margainly. If i notice anything else ill post it up but otherwise I very happy with the inital results.
  5. I replaced mine parts from that K&N kit above & surprised at the difference it made. So im looking for another one of those middle pieces for my mates car if anyone has one??
  6. that was actually pretty interesting, cheers for posting up. I pulled the main airfilter box off & bolted on a pod with heat sheild, didnt realise that 2nd box thing restricted flow as well. Next on my list is to remove tha nowt!!
  7. so do you think by putting a chipped sti ecu into an auto the possible negatives of timing issues could outweight the postives of a more aggressive fuel map etc?
  8. Ive done a quick search but cant seem to find the answer im looking for so hopefully someone can give me a definite answer. If replacing a 4plug ecu can you put one out of a manual car into an auto & vice verser without any hassles? Or does the auto have extra wires?
