  1. I saw this on Turners website before christmas. didn't see what it sold for in the end, but i think it had around 5900 reserve, i could be wrong Body looked really tidy but the engine bay pics looked filthy/greasy/oily & awful, coupled with the report Loner posted which is the same one I saw, engine is most def close to nugga nugga land and it's no surprise this guy hasn't posted pics of under the hood. looks like it needs alot of work
  2. Damn dude, sorry to hear about your car, where abouts in Brooklyn did it go missing from? I live up here too, just by the Servo. Hope ya get ya ride sorted mate!
  3. Hey guys, So a couple of months ago, end tank blew on radiator, got it replaced all good until Saturday just gone, I just got home from work, started over heating, turns out the top radiator hose split. Unnnnnnnnghhhh. Ordered some silicone replacements off trademe from redline, dropped at local mechanic in Brooklyn, he replaced the hose, filled and bled radiator, said it was still over heating. He told me he was going to try a new thermostat in it today. Called him this arvo and he said head gaskets gone and it's now blowing smoke So what is my best option? Anyone know of a reasonably priced place in Wellington to get heads replaced? Churr Nick
  4. Got it picked up by spannerworks this morning, end tank went on radiator, they just quoted 383 all up to replace it, not bad considering
  5. Hey guys, posted this in the Manawatu area also, just driving up to palmy from welly, on approach to Otaki, temp gauge started climbing so pulled over as soon as I crossed the bridge. Have popped the hood and can see some coolant on the ground it's not a heavy leak so far as I can tell but could see it steaming off on the drivers side, I can't actually see where the leak is. Is anyone able to help me out or know of anyone in Otaki that could help? Have cash and a case or 2 of parrot dog beers for anyone that can help! Am on my way to see family due to a death in the family My number is 0211145346 Thanks team!
  6. Got my full licence last Thursday after a short 13 years of having my restricted, lol
  7. Drove it to Lower Hutt so my old man could pick up his "new" 317,XXXkms 94 GT (BG5-A) wagoooon that he won on tardme, has cambelt and auto trans oils done at 300,000k lol, cost him $1100, engine bay is a bit Dusty, needs at least drivers side rocker cover gaskets done, and water in overflow tank was a bit brown so might need coolant flushed and replaced. other than that, rear bumper is a bit rough, has a few trolley dings. has twin sun roofs with no signs of rust & a tidy interior for a car that has done 300,000ks oh and can't forget the big bore, haha, he has louder exhaust than me! lulz
  8. I just called subaru, part is about $12 + gst, none currently in stock with subaru NZ, apparently some arriving mid next month according to dude on the phone, after reading this thread I am very keen to give this a crack myself now
  9. 4 new tyres, alignment and a WOF. Nitto Neo Gen asymmetrical same price but apparently "heaps betterer" than the Nitto NT555 directionals I had according to the dude that sold me the rims and tyres a couple of years back, haven't had enough of a hoon on them to make up my own mind yet, but so far so good!
  10. Took it for a WOF, only failed on front tyres, outside edge wear/uneven wear. own fault for not getting alignment done going to replace all 4 as rears are down to 4mm so may aswell get it all done at once Going for the same as what I have currently, Nitto NT555
  11. Hey Team, Pretty sure I need to get my shocks replaced - will find out tomorrow or monday when I take it for a WOF. I also may want to go back to around about standard height or similar So does anyone here have experience in putting suspension from another model into a BD5 or BG5 and if so what bolts up without any fuss? Seems Bilsteins are getting harder to come across in decent condition and/or low kms that don\'t need rebuilding any info be appreciated Churr to the Churrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
  12. new uprated front sway bar links, look just like Whiteline extra heavy duty ones, noltec or something, alloy and nolathane front end is soo much tighter! back end up sometime in the next couple of weeks.
  13. All the work i have had done on my car has been done by either Rick (Ichi) or Brendan and the guys at FFS and i have been more than happy with the work done by both Rick is a bit more spency but he was named Subarus number 2 mechanic in the world and number 1 for NZ and as others have said a guru FFS recently swapped my turbos out from vf18/19 to VF 26/27 for a damn good price, and have just had both up pipes a downpipe and engine mount done out at their new workshop out the back of pauatahanui inlet on Flightys Road - excellent service and sharp pricing - several members here use these guys and all seem more than happy with the service - https://www.facebook.com/FlatFourSpecialists?fref=ts Pm me if you want some more info/contact details
  14. Drivers Side Engine Mount, Primary Side Downpipe & Both uppipes Cheers to Brendan, Hamish & the boys @ FFS LTD, Churrr! Just ordered some front alloy and nolathane swaybar links, hopefully arrive before the weekend and go in Sunday/Monday Soooo much quieter now ;D Oh and new warrant
  15. hope gibbons building if you can ask them about parking overnight, i used to have a permanent park there so did Deathz0r, is closed and locked up overnight and access only with a swipe card, also has security come through every couple of hours to do a walkthrough is right in the middle of town, next to les mils on Taranaki street
  16. Is there an easy way to get the Parcel Tray out of a 1996 BD5 Legacy? or is there an easy way to get the stock speaker covers out? Need to replace one of the speakers as i suspect it has a rip in the cone as it sounds pretty farty boom boom it Currently has 2 x Fusion Reactor 220W (100w RMS) 6.5" 3 ways in factory position covered with Factory grilles for stealth and would like to keep it that way. a quick look doesn\'t show me very well how to get the parcel tray out, is it a rear seat out job? for now i have just taken the connections off the speaker so am only running 1 side in the rear, not that i notice up front if its a small enough rip on the edge i might be able to get a clever bastard to repair the cone for me, which would be ideal for the meantime while i consider my options on a new setup
  17. i can\'t see your picture but if its the same top mount setup as a GTB/RSB, it\'s piss easy. I went to a wreckers and got a piece of hose from IC to stock BOV and a 20mm hose joiner and a couple of hose clamps, stock hose i didn\'t cut i think i just twisted it around a little to accommodate. chopped a piece off the hose i got from wreckers to suit the recirc part and used the hose joiner in the hole where the stock valve goes here is a pic of how mine is setup, it should give you a rough idea, i am using a GFB Hybrid 50/50 never had any sign of backfiring or anything using it for almost 2 years now and same type of valve as the one you are looking at
  18. Cheers bro, i like em! Nah was Piss easy bro, socket and an allen key, the dead pedal was attached to a bracket already so i just unscrewed mine and bolted this one in, pulled rubber covers off clutch and brake and these ones simply bolt on over top, gas pedal was the most confusing, i originally thought i had to swap the whole pedal but it just covers the stock pedal, rubber and all, has a pin that goes through the stock pin on the pedal and screws up, i found them for $75 second hand from a local company they are the anodized blue ones
  19. Fitted These inbetween downpours, only one that threw me was the gas pedal, quick google search proved useful and nek minit done
  20. Got the F.F.S Boys to do the work but swapped my turbos out now running Vf26 + VF27 Combo and new Iridium spark plugs, feels like earlier spool, and getting more boost than i was. ordered some sti pedal covers. next jobs are get my BBOD cleaned out and do an oil and filter change Cheers Again to Brendan and the boys at F.F.S for their awesome work! Highly recommended to anyone in Welly wanting quality work and peace of mind!
  21. Cheers boys, thanks for swapping my turbos out yesterday! much happier with the new setup! Massive Churrations!
