  1. cheers, all opinions are welcome. But really do want to know for myself if its all bolt ons or if it requires fab work at all
  2. Hi guys, I've been wondering about something for many years, tried googling for a bit but couldn't find anything relevant so posting a thread. 10 years ago my old man bought him self a V7 sti from a dealer which had just been brought in. He tought me how to drive... etc in it when I was attending high school, so being the young lad I was I took a lot of photos of it so I could show off. Recently I was scrolling through old photos and realized that this V7 had a V8 rear end. Tail lights and bumper were definitely V8. For years I took on the Nissan's as my choice of cars to fiddle with and did a lot of fooling around, changing front ends and facelift conversions etc, but just wondering if subarus have the same sort of configuration, If it'd be possible to do a FRONT AND REAR v8 conversion to a V7 all just bolt ons? Headlight, guards, bumpers, boot, tail lights. Has this ever been done? I really like the V8s but sadly money only allows me to go as far as the V7s at the moment.. Or do you guys think its better for me to save for a year on the side to get a V8
  3. Hi guys, have recently blown a rwd on track and sort of in a 'time for a change' mood. Thinking I might want another subaru just wanting to know your thoughts on this car, as it looks way too cheap for what it is http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/auction-831312944.htm
  4. Evo1 MD187701 Evo2 MD312468 This is the one I had in my car for some reason Evo3 MD322364 Any of the three works on the evo 1~3\'s so if any one of those turn up i\'ll be very keen to purchase. Thanks
  5. I found someone with a similar problem in their mitsi ecu as well. Turns out the number burnt on mine is the driver for the icv IC105 is damaged. \'IC105 is ISC coils B1 and B2\' I\'ve searched around places for an ecu but the only one I found was at parts connection and quoted me 295+ gst Don\'t think thats worth it at all.. a repair soounds awesome, could you let me know on your details so i can ship it out to you
  6. been getting idle problem for a few weeks now car idles high and i just cant get it to sit at bloody normal idle took out ecu and found this. could this be a contributing factor? lol would you replace this?
  7. thanks lachlan , that didn\'t even come to my mind. Wd-40\'d all moving parts and winded the screw in. now shes perfect. cheers
  8. My car yesterday started to develop this stocking problem on the throttle. Very smooth when car is off but soon as I turn the car on it is stiff only on the very first bit of the pedal. Say im driving at 40ks to turn into a corner and try and accelerate ever so lightly it is so stiff that I cant move it until I give it a good blip. Which makes the car jerk.. Only happens while car is running
  9. I also work for a compliance center. New rule to exhaust is that imported cars must all have cats. Older cars seem to fail quite a lot on emissions test. Like the guy above said, no repairs been done from crash or else itll have to be repair certified, rust etc. Very rarely older cars pass with our vinz inspectors.. unless its in immaculate form all around
  10. update: tried doing a test a few people told me to try. With the connector still in with the iacv, turn the key to on position not start and the valve should move in and out but mine is just stuck . Is this test proving i have a bad iacv?
  11. This isn\'t on my subie but it is a general motor issue. Recently cleaned out my iacv, checked the tps, re-routed the intercooler pipings and cleaned the throttle body. Ever since this clean up I\'ve been noticing my car would idle funny.. 1.2k ish rpm start up, drops to 1kish as it warms up but hear the car kinda fluttering and fluctuating during idle and when it is fully warmed up the car is at 1.5krpm ~ 2k rpm on idle.. fuck sakes. So far i\'ve tested all the vacuum lines for leaks with a brake cleaner, also tried running the car without the intake and put my hand over the throttle car would die instantly. Ruled out vacuum leak issue. Tried to reset the ecu by disconnecting the battery for a good few hours and put it back in as i forgot to do that while i cleaned the iacv. Nothing still bloody gives me a high idle. I did not touch the idle screw.. running out of ideas now. Any input would be appreciated as im getting stressed and out of ideas on what it could be.
