  1. Just a general question, if this has already been answered, could someone please point me in the direction of the thread? Basically I'm seeing a lot of nice subarus out there and mine well it needs some love and care, I'm trying to way up if its within my budget to keep it, or if I'm better finding a newer car with less k's.... I don't really want to as I love my car..... Anyway, you don't have to answer as I get why you wouldn't, but how much do you put aside for your car per week, month, year? At the moment I'm on a need as is basis, but I'd like to start putting something aside purely for car stuff to keep on top rather than having to dig into my savings every time I need to fix/ replace something... Cheers
  2. Hey guys, my partner and I are going to be looking for a newer car soon and have considered a 4th Gen Legacy (twin turbo). We currently have a 1999 BE5 and like the size of it, but want a bit more power. If I rebuild the engine and run better headgaskets (with same compression), can I up the boost on the engine and expect some semblance of reliability? Or would it be simpler to run a WRX engine with the single turbo? Anything considered at the moment as I have a Skyline for weekend work so not searching for massive power. Cheers guys.
  3. was just ringing out second gear in my twin turbo legacy and as pushing in the clutch from secondary turbo the car made an odd metal sound and stalled straight away, now check engine light is (check steering light was flashing for a bit but has now gone off) on and the cars running rough as, can anyone tell me whats happened? cheers
  4. Hello everyone, this is our family Forester turbo, SF5C with some 260kms under the belt and still going good Have owned for about a year, been a very economical and reliable mover. Modifications done in the pic's above are just standard GT-B wagon Bilstein suspension and springs. Am now looking to take it further and see how far I can push the envelope....will throw up more pics and update soon. In the meantime, can anyone help me identify the model that I have? I would like to know what I can do with the ECU to allow modifications and just what are safe modifications I can do with the standard ECU. Look forward to meeting people at track day event's also, have done a few trackdays in my Supra and look forward to many more in my Subaru. Cheers

    EZ30R turbo kit??

Where would I start looking for a turbo kit in Auckland for my EZ30R? Anyone got any ideas on the work involved? Cost? Engine Limits and potential performance gains without needing an engine rebuild? Thanks
