Fixed thanks: help needed this week to fix exhaust leaks front pipe

Failed a wof and I need to fix it and get it re-woffed for next Sunday's Slipway autocross on 21st.

Anyone experienced this problem before and able to help?

At the rear of the downpipe 100mm before the joint - underneath the car.

Can I put an exhaust bandage on this?

The VTNZ place said 'front pipe' but turns out it's the front pipe of the exhaust system under car after the gearbox, just before it bolts up to the resonator.

Not in an easy place to weld. Can it be wrapped? Or does it need to be welded?

I think I still have those exhaust pieces off my V7 STi, but it's all up in Auckland with me.

Would only cost you $30 ish to get a new bit of pipe bent and welded in place

You're developing quite a devilish sense of humour Loren. The tomato would toast STIs for a motorkhana at the slipway but not an autocross.

Al if your downpipe is standard i got one or two you can have for cheap. its easy to fit also

It's quite a long 2 1/2" downpipe. It goes past the gearbox.

Don't know. But it should be good for mixing gases.

Update: Took it to Midas and they found 3 holes in the downpipe :'( - at the wastegate, the hole, and a rotten joint at the far end. They fixed them all. Sorry Loren, but the tomato won't be making a show after all

It was Porirua Midas, and they were also very good - $171.

Well i AM coming down....but i dont do autocross very well

Hopefully I'll have a new job soon and Sunday will become free for auto-crosses etc..

then i can get out there and start having a bit of fun with the rest of your guys
