This ad has been brought to you by Castrol?

Na been researching Castrol oils for karting and race applications and thought it would be good as it shows how much oil you need for each application more than the type of oil. But its good reference material as theres always someone asking how much and what to use.

And best to use A 747 in the kart failing that, Activ2T TTS

not a bad question actually.

In the manual yes its in the same filler / they are joined etc. The 5MT takes about 3.5-4.0L (someone please confirm). The 6MT takes bang on 5quarts or 4.7-8l

The auto has a seperate compartment for main gb and the front diff. The 4AT and 5AT, both take about 1 quart of 0.95l for the front diff and about 3.5l for the main box compartment. You need to drain and fill these seperately.

im quite sure on 3.5l in main compartment for the 4AT but awaiting confirmation on the 5AT

I use valvoline 75w-90 gearoil for mt transmissions from super sheep auto cause its the cheapest i've found (cost 45 slides for 4litre)

Has the same api rating as above (GL5)

And vavoline DX3 for autos as it comes in a 5litre pack as appossed to 4litre and is the same price as castrol 4litres.cheers 8)

just changed to Motul in my 6 speed and lsd.

SL gear 300 75/90 for gearbox and 75/90 FF LSD 2 for the Lsd.($215.00 + GST)

Now uses 1 litre less fuel per 100 km travelled..and the slight whine that was there has also gone.....Ya only get the best results using the best stuff!

Motul for me thanks!

It looks like Gold and it does not "smell" like gear oil...Interesting?

I\'ve been struggling to find the info for my oils for a DCCD 2002 Sti spec c.

Subaru Wairau Rd has recommended me Castrol Multitrax 80w90 for the front diff/box and SL90 for the rear diff, didn\'t say what brand though.

Thoughts?

Looks like this for the box: http://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/online-store/products/Castrol-Multitrax-Transaxle-Manual-Transmission-Fluid-4-Litre.aspx?pid=1276&menuFrom=60202#Cross

This for the rear: http://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/online-store/products/Castrol-LSX-90-Rear-Axle-Differential-Fluid-4-Litre.aspx?pid=1116#Cross

Is what Winger Subaru have recommended. I\'ve heard Syntrax is better than Multitrax, just can\'t find it.

Digging up an old thread sorry. Was reading on a US Subaru board that they suggest/recommend when doing your gear oil putting ATF through for a bit as a flush. I dunno? Thoughts please? Anyhow, I'm looking at doing a gearbox flush soon, and just wondering if anyone has some hints or pointers or lessons learned from past mistakes? Cheers all :)

To be honest, I'd just drain and check for any metal fragments. If none and the oil seems 'relatively' clean, just drain it right out, let it sit for a bit to make sure you've got it all, put plug back in and fill it up with good oil.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
