was gunna say I saw them somewhere...

mint dude

To be honest, I dont like that they have STi written on them and its clearly not an STi. But they do suit the car in my opinion. Plus I need them for rallying anyway. Ohh and $67 was a damned good bargin :D

$67 is a bargain alright. never noticed them being pink though... look more red.

Your quite right - in the trademe auction they looked a bit pink (hence you commenting on them being pink), but when they arrived they definately were more red.

Just noticing how low they drop... I assume you haven't tried reversing up a steep slope or kerb yet?

Yeah its the ride height of the car - the coilovers are a bit too low. With the car at factory height it wouldnt be an issue.

The material is quite good, thick but also flexible so although it has run into a few things already its not been an issue.

yeah but it looks like when you reverse over a kerb or up ramps or something, the rear mudflaps will actually

get caught under the wheels, and then the bumper will be ripped off.

Well, I have the mounting hardware (plates), and have cut myself some nice new mudflaps to go on. The only bits I am missing is the clip nuts. Can you get these in general hardware stores? I checked Mitre 10 Mega, and they didn't have anything like them. Do I just need to raid pickapart?

repco have them. they are just the one piece ones... not an actual nut held into a clip, but just as effective.

I finally got a day off when it wasn't miserable outside! Here are a few pics from making mine. I used conveyor belt material from Industrial Conveyors (Rubber Bits) in Petone (Fitzherbert Street). It is 5mm heavy duty rubber with a canvas mesh insert, and at $70 a square metre, is waay cheaper than Urethane. I got a piece that was 1200x600 for $50. I've cut three rears and two fronts, with enough left to get one more each for front and back.

I bought an old perished and cracked set of STi ones off WRX8YA, so I had mounting plates, and some really good templates

And this is what it looks like with all four

I thought I would keep them for when I make the next set, or if anyone else wanted to make some. But if I figure out a better material to make some permanent templates with, they're all yours. We'll call it sponsorship =P

Hehe, keen :)

I should really get round to using some of the stuff you made them out of to put underneath the RS to protect it from stones etc. Just a matter of time and money really, getting it going was the priority.

Just thinking, i could do up some printable PDF templates, if i could borrow them for a day or two to measure up.

Yeah, you are welcome to borrow them, just PM me. I did have some other templates that were supposed to be printable but they only just (or perhaps didn't) fit on an A3 page and I had a bugger of a time trying to print them. I reckon the best thing to make templates out of would be something you can use to actually cut around - like plywood or something harder. Unless you had a grunty guillotine in which case you are home and hosed.

I just installed the front mudflaps onto my 97 rex. They are red with white sti logo and subaru technica int under the logo. Look damn cool, really standout with the red flaps and the 555 blue paint. I still gotta mount the back ones on there but its been a little bit cold out there! I just installed the WRC style carbon mirrors onto mine, with the Rally Pig decal. I'd love to add a rally type roof scoop but the factory roof vent is too wide to fit under! I will have to upload photos when Im done!

I got 2 original mudflats off trade me which have gone on the front. The guy had 6 all up. 4 were made using the same template mentioned in the earlier link by the look of it.

Just a word from the last couple of days experience of mudflaps .... mount them a little bit higher than you would expect ... I have to lift the front 2 as on s bends and tighter roundabouts, (well any roundabout at higher speeds) there is a scratching noise coming from the wheel arches as they rub along the ground!

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
