toyo r888 vs bridgestone re11

im unsure what would be the better tyre to get :/

i understand the r888 is a semi slick witch will perform better but will wear out faster

as the re11 is not a semi slick so it will last longer but wont perform as well

dont want anything worse than re11's

course the answer would depend on road or track use .

i dont intend on using brand new tyres like these on the track as i need them for street use , but i do like tyres to perform well for twisty street driving as i love a bit of quick cornering just to tempting haha

i can get the re11 for $380 each

and the r888 for $395 each

225/40/18

would like your opinion on what you think would be better

cheers all :)

R888's in standing water on the road may result in you losing control. They just dont clear the water enough like a 'normal' road tyre!

This. They are not designed to be used as a normal road tyre - they will be noisy, not grip very well when cold and aquaplane much more easily on standing water.

If its between those two options go for the RE11 no question.

Out of interest what other tyres have you tried to make you decide you don't want anything less sticky than the RE11?

The RE-11 is more than enough for any road car, especially a version 8. Fark. They last forever compared to Bridgestone's other performers too. 12,000km and counting since Megameet, still got a tonne of tread.

RE55s isn't even worth considering as a street tyre, it's for track use...and not by n00bs (trust me, I got schooled well in these parts. With blunt force trauma. Avoid doing the same :P).

To be fair Spec Cs car does have the power and handling to cause a lot more wear and tear to his tyres than yours does.

but i agree. Just get the RE-11.

I found them excellent on the road for a daily

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
