4pin tps converting to 3pin tps

Hi there

Im hoping 1 of you can help me out with a wiring diagram of a 3 and 4 pin tps. Or maybe someone has converted from v1/v2 intake manifold to v3/v4 and still using the old loom aswell and knows which coloured wires go were...any help would be much appreciated..

Yeah heaps listed but non that can answer the question i asked.

There is a chart there for a 3pin tps that has wiring colour codes that i already have but none that specifies a 4pin tps sensor and there colour coded meaning.

Surely there must be someone else that has upgaded to a v4 manifold that knows which wire goes where..im pretty sure i leave out the brown wire on the 4pin tps but dont wana take any chances

What ecu are you using to not need the 4th wire (idle switch)? I put a v4 manifold on my V2 but I just used the v2 tb with a few mods.

Hi caged, im running a possumlink ecu, its in a bf wagon and have recently switched from a tdo5h to a vf22 and i have bought i v4 intake with throttle body etc. Didnt wana twist it because its running a nice divorce downpipe etc, hoping that someone here would be able to tell me which coloured wires go where as i dont have a multi meter to confirm which is 5v/ground/ signal etc.

I think you are right bro, on mine I have left out the brown wire (forget what I pm'd you before, that was what I was originally told to do but it was wrong haha) mine seems to run fine, it threw a code for the idle switch when I plugged in a factory ecu to try it , but doesnt affect how it runs at all

heres a diagram of a v3/4 TPS, 3 wire, does this help

pin 3 is earth - same earth feed shared with coolent temp sensor

pin 1 is volts - same volts feed as boost noid

pin 2 is the signal to the ECU

heres the new 3pin tps and plug..note that the plug maynot be original colours as the plug was sourced seperate from a wrecker

im pretty sure the resistance is around the opposite way between the two as well, ie: you wire the earth wire from your bc/bf loom to the 12v wire on the v4 tps, and you wire the 12v wire from your bc/bf loom to the earth wire on the v4 tps, signal (white) stays the same, and brown on your loom is not used, thats how mine is wired, I cant remember exactly where I got the info from but it seems to work haha, except for throwing that code for having no idle switch (which is the un-used brown wire) but doesnt seem to affect it at all

I did the same wiring method aswell, when I went to v4 into v2 and currently run it with a G4 works a treat
