never broken a axle or cv in my rwd wrx, and its done its fair share of burnouts, donuts and sideways lol, only had one noisey diff which i changed before it totally blew.

and i believe the car is still on its original cvs/shafts as im the only nz owner from low kms. maybe the genuine cvs make it stronger, not sure.

/quote]swap you mine for yours then ;)

haha think i better stick to what i got, wouldnt wana create more issues for myself :P

issues? ill give you issues! :o ...all ill have is teething issues for the 1st month of getting my car going with all its aftermarket goodies, thats what i call issues ;)....one of them is my headers and up-pipe,i just read that the mild steel built headers can move up to 3-4mm cause of the 1000*c temps or so they get in them....i didnt want a flexi joint on my up-pipe for flow reasons and my turbo and wastegate are well supported so im now expecting cracking or breakage.Well its all trial and error but i knew thr would be movement but not that much!

haha i dont have anywhere near as many mods and aftermarket thingys as you, just dropped a new engine in, converted a few sensors from bc5 to version 4, twisted vf22, semi-decent fuel setup, and a link and the bloody thing is doing my head in big time, its no wonder some people who dont do things themselves end up spending mega-coin on simple setups

yea I kinda enjoy it though even when its driving me up the wall, and its a little buzz when you get stuck on something and you work it out!

And its all learning, do something once and the next time you know all the do's and donts and what will work well and what will not.

Its that very reason I'm going to have a crack at doing a cheap rebuild on a spare engine I have sitting here to keep as a spare for the mrs wrx, just new rings, bearings, gaskets etc, but will be a good learning experience and am looking forward to it!

sweet as,thrs plenty of books that can help you plus the web but what ive found from once being a mechanic is its all about the memory and being tidy. Pull it apart slowly and surely, any queries you have look it up,never guess and your away.....even tho i may have 20yrs mechanical experience every car/motor is difference and im always learning! the only thing that remains the same is having the patience to get it right. So good luck to you :)

well havent smashed any parts in the yellow pig, guess the c4 is absorbing the shock. also pump up tires to 60 psi, will lessen the strain as the tires will spin rather than trying to grip/

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
