sounds like the 4k rev limit ford put in the mondeo and others ford made. but it was only in the auto when in "N" or "P". but im sure this has to be after market!!

have you tried 100% throttle and slowly letting the clutch out? it might over rev just before engagement or something?? there has to be a limit switch or some sort of sensor on one of the clutches moving parts. find it and delete it if you cant control/modify it!

or they do have factory launch control??

jus took it for a drive now, it launches pretty hard at 4k but it is like launch control it just sits there at 4k reving when the pedal is flat, i'll look into it in the morning, on a positive note; its stopping me from burning out clutch after clutch :)

cheers for the help

It is an '09 STi w/ DCCD according to previous posts. I've never heard of a factory fitted launch control system on a Subaru. 4k also sounds quite low too - my gc would just bog dropping the clutch at 4k (unless wet). I wish I could remember what Viv's Legacy was running at launch.

interestingly i discovered our BPE outback does the same thing. given its an H6 and auto, but its still totally factory.

at about 4500rpm (cant remember exactly), with it in "N" it acts just like launch control.

as to why the OP's is doing it - sounds like guess work and making stuff to me without knowing / speculation. Take it to an auto sparky or performance shop to have a quick gander at. Diagnosing this one of the internet sounds near impossible.

Spec c had factory ecu options like that, you can flash a normal ecu to have launch control too. Will it rev normal in neutral and a soon as the clutch pedal is pushed it cuts at 4k?

All Bp H6's do that, Its probably a strategy to stop unessential rev's in neutral.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
