Stretched Tyres

Actually i dont think there is any legal writing about in NZ at the moment however in the last months NZPC mag in the legal section there was a Q&A about streched tires and that there is a policy/guideline coming into place in hte next few months as to what is and isnt aloud.

brother and friend have failed cert with steched tires ( well the guy would not cert them ) and there for fail warrent due to it, this was a few months ago.

i got pulled up a few weeks ago, the policeman never mentioned anything about my stretch though, it isnt very much though, so may not have been a big problem

My mates silvia has stretched tyres and all he needed was to make sure that the tread of the tyre itself was under the guards. not 100% sure myself though, but makes sense in a way.

have heard that aswell, on all cars i beleive the tread must be inside the gaurd.

it may just be the whole were you go/who you get as to how much stretch is to much.
