in winter is a good way to warm the cabin up or defrost windows maybe

I never warm mine up...

i warm mine up a little then just dont thrash it till its warmed right up.. and i have a mate whos an idiot who will start his back it out and kane the crap out of it.. like out the drive then red line it in first and second.. guess it comes back to respect for your toys and ego..

I warm my car up for at least 10 mins. Or usually until the rev's rest at 1000rpm.

Rental cars are made to be red lined right from the moment you turn the key.

But with my own cars, I never leave them sitting to warm up, always start them and drive off at a medium pace. Unless its frosty and then I wait til the seat warmers are doing their bit before I jump in.

Dumb Insurance question... If I have glass cover and I got a decent sized stone chip in my windscreen would insurance cover it?

The chip is right in drivers line of sight.

If it has to be replaced to obtain a WOF, then usually Insurance will cover it.

Its at the glass companys discretion whether they replace it. All the insurance companys will replace it if its a safety thing especially in the CVZ. Id say theyd replace it...if not, take it home, make it a large crack and take it back.

Oh thats right. Whats the lifespan of OEM plugs? The red car has close to 100km on its current plugs but still drives very well. Should i be bothered pulling them and at a minimum inspecting them? Should they just be changed as a matter of course with that kind of mileage?

I know little about modern plugs in turbocharged vehicles

Yeah I/we got done for having adjustable susp 7mm lower then what it was certed for. Absloute joke. Got pinkyed , raised adjustys back up to "height", back to vtnz, paid their enormous $100 WOF recheck fee. And pinky removed.

IMO a Pinky and greeny are as bad as each other, Still gotta pay alot to have each sticker taken off.

Be aware that only one problem with your car can earn a sticker, whereas before it use to be 3.

You say you raised them back up to height then took it for a WOF...

So your saying is it was out of it's certed heights?
