If i was to run a compound turbo set up, is there such thing as good twin turbo model heads for the extra oil feed & return pipes or just stick the other oil drain feed (Y\'d not tee\'d) into single turbo return pipe i have?

Depends on where you\'re going to place the two turbo\'s doesn\'t it? If they can both drain vertically back to the one head, then a Y joint on that side should suffice. If they are being placed one on either side, then you\'re better off with TT heads (could also just drill out the LH Head off a single turbo motor and fit a drain fitting into it). Or can get extra fancy, build a wee sump for the two turbo\'s to drain into and then run a bilge pump to drain that back into the motor just like they do on front (bottom) mounted turbo\'s.

Both the TT and the single turbo heads have the same oil galleries and the single turbo heads just have a bung fitted instead of the oil line.

Flow wise, the TT heads are generally similar to the STI heads of the same model year.

My limited understanding is you can change the timing to create more power. I dont know if that\'s done via more boost or not but you will need to flow more fuel so possibly injector upgrades etc. Not to mention E85 is a PITA to find.

Theres some really good reading about the interwebs on it atm but I threw it in the to hard basket due to how hard it is to get the fuel.

how does E85 produce power gains?

my car is currently making 200kw at 17psi boost on 98.

If i tune it for E85 will it make more power on the same boost

Just get your current turbo highflowed by MSE and tune at 20psi. Should see 230-240wkw but injectors will stop you achieveing that.

turbo is a MSE td05/06 hybrid. i\'m going to upgrade injectors, lines and rails and then i\'ll have to get it retuned.

I just wanted to understand how it works a bit better to see if I want to make the change to e85 while i\'m at it and only have to get it tuned once

It\'s a much higher octane than straight gasoline

Same as you can run more boost / timing etc with Avgas/racegas for example - I think E85 is around 110-115 octane?

Downside to it is basically double your fuelling setup - it is not economical in terms of how much it uses, so you wont get as far out of a tank. Upside is more horseypowers and a cooler running engine

Absolute bees knees is if you got a "flexfuel" setup, which is basically a fancy sensor so the ECU knows what octane of fuel you have (say you had a 1/4 tank of petrol and 3/4 E85... or whatever) and adjusts the tune to suit

Bucketloads of info from Aussie regarding all this, they love the stuff

It makes power gains by having extra oxygen in the E85 chemical soup (compared to petrol), so the engine doesn\'t get constrained by how much air it can suck in through the air intake system and inlet valves. The downside is that more fuel volume is required to be pushed into the cylinder to achieve the correct mixture ratio.

What sort of boost pressure readings (primary/secondary) should I expect from my BH5 rev D (lower than rev A-C due to smaller turbos?) Thanks

10-11 and 15-16 me thinks.

I hear a clunk when I change gear sometimes from the back of my BE5D, is this the rear diff oil giving out?

Open question

How do I make my listings work good on trademe?

Listed these http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=664115117&ed=true since I don\'t need them but for the life of me I can\'t get them to come up in the search - I look via Defi, TRD, whatever - none of my sweet bro keywords work and I know some trainspotter is going to have kittens over them

I do not like a dash full of gauges

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
