Plumb it from comp cover to gate with no boost control and post up results.

Made it at about 6k though.

I felt around the flanges on the headers before didnt feel any leaks, but i wanted to get some new headers anyway

Exhaust flow disaster going on somewhere. Gasket leak, collapsed flexi In up-pipe, something like that.

Yeah; I\'ll have a look at it when I get some time: contemplate getting a new exhauast setup.

Okay, so not fully sure but will a faulty knock sensor send my car into limp mode? Will be getting a new one shortly as have been getting a 22.

Hks on my v7, none of the idle issues of a spring and piston type unit, holds boost well. Neat little unit.

As Roo said, you get the Vrrm Pshhh niose,

No performance gain, just noise. If you have a low/soft spring you will get erratic idle, too stiff/hard spring and it won\'t open.

Might have to downgrade as looking at uni...

if you mean performance wise then poos

if you mean fuel usage, maybe a wee bit better but unless you get a FWD one then maybe a wee wee bit more

better of to buy a toyota if you want better milage

The autos are thirstier than the manuals. You could probably eek out a measurable improvement just by going to pizza cutter eco tyres and upping the inflation a few PSI.

Most modern autos/twin clutch manuals and other fancy gearboxes will be more efficient than a three pedal manual and have reduced fuel consumption and emissions.

And when it comes to official fuel economy testing, autos have a huge advantage in that they are not tied to specific gear/speed bands as manuals are.

Now for a dumb question - why do so many turbo cars not have factory boost gauges ?

Maybe understandable in bread and butter models but most performance turbo cars don\'t have boost gauges either.

The only new cars I can recall with a factory boost gauge are the Ford Focus ST/RS, Mazda 3MPS, new Audi S3, NIssan R35 GTR.

Any more ?

it was an optional extra from Subaru/sti. I imagine most other manufacturers would of done the same. They save money from not putting them in all cars from factory and make money from selling them as extras

if you are not adjusting the boost, then why do you need one ?

oil pressure/oil temp/rad temp are way more betterer

Fair few nissans had them r33 25t\'s and s15\'s etc my mrs starlet has one.

I find factory turbo lights more amusing than the gauges, the ones that light up a turbo icon when you hit boost. Cracks me up

i was just about to say that lol.. thats why i said yr not ment to fiddle with it.. they prob just didnt think u needed one and the cars that came with em were more a fasion statement than a need.. ive got an old lamco 1 its pretty goofy to watch as it only goes to 1 bar and i run 2bar.. poor bugger goes all the way round and back to the vac side
