Quite possibly moisture issues. Your right head/Plugs/Leads would have been wet from the open vent.

Possibly a Lead or wet plug shorting onto the Head, once dried out it all came right. :-\

Or wet AFM plug or wet AFM?

Edit: I\'ve had the same symptoms after a steam clean or engine degrease/hose. Once dried out it all comes right.

Weak Ignition can cause low Vac readings, also the wet Pod restricting flow.

/quote]It was so bad at one point it sounded like I had lumpy as f*ck cams or almost a rotational idle

I have a cover for the vent somewhere... it was from my coupe. This car didn\'t come with one >:(

Both right bank plugs could have been wet or fouling, so only running on 2.

Take the Vent off and wrap it in an appropriately coloured plastic bag, then refit.

Temp rain guard. ;D

Thanks Ross... Will see what happens when I leave work. Don\'t want to take it far from home in case it decides to be a cunt again

So, subwrecks in hamilton quoted me 180 for a J2; Am i wrong in assuming it is the terrible wreckers markup? Just dont feel it\'s worth that much. I expected around the 120 mark, but 180 seems a tad steep.

Yeah, I don\'t want to spend that kind of money on an effectively untunable ecu. I paid 50 for an A7; so I figured around the 80 mark for a J2; being the STi counterpart. I think I\'ll keep an eye out, this kinda dosh is last resort territory. Especially when im really wanting the nzdm ecu.

Longblock will be about two weeks. Final payment will go through next week as money I was owed by a friend (haha surprise surprise) wasnt payed on time lol. So maybe 3 weeks til engine is in and assembled.

Im trying to source stuff early so I dont get to it and be all like "oh shit, i need that and then have to pay ridiculous markup prices like that.

so when trying to pull the vacuum hose off the standard bpv/bov

the nipple thing snapped off

would it be allgood for me to just super glue it back on?

You could try, not the best but as long as it seals. There\'s a blue and an orange BOV on trademe for $20 each.

Yeah, probably easier to just block the vac hose up and find another valve. The TT secondary relief valve is identical:

The only difference between Blue sticker/Orange sticker OEM valve, is the exit angle of the Vac hose nipple. Blue nipple is inline with the main pipes, orange nipple is off to one side by about 30\'.

Can you over oil feed your turbo?

Thinking my turbo was getting over it for the last few years as it has been seeping oil into the exhaust housing & the smell has been fucking me off for ages so i finally went a bit bigger & bought a new one for it. But when i was setting up for my new turbo i also replaced my oil feed line to find the banjo feed from the engine was not the filtered one i had on there all those years ago. so a bit of rummaging around through my assorted boxes of fittings i found it, resumed to clean up & refit the turbo & exhaust.

it doesn\'t seem to be seeping the oil it had been.

i didn\'t take a pic to compare but the banjo with the filter has a small pin sized hole & the one i removed had a larger hole through both sides like a water feed.

yes . bb turbos only need about a litre a minute of flow . plain bearing ones need 2-3 . if you put too much oil into it it will get out the exhaust .

the seal isnt a seal as such either . eg turbos will leak oil out either end if stored in the shed stood on the end . doesnt mean itws stuffed

Can also effect oil cooling (relief valve/pump circulation) and slightly starve the Crank/Cams of oil pressure (oil pressure going straight out the turbo feed).

BB Banjo is 0.9-1.0mm?

Journal is 1.3mm?

These are my OEM BH5B TT turbo oil feeds:

I\'m changing to a VF36, (new 10mm Pump/non AVCS). Should I be using a 0.9-1.0mm Banjo?

Yes Ross, get a 1.0mm Banjo for your VF36. ;D

The TT uses a 1.3mm for the Secondary (BB) and a 6.0mm for the Primary (journal). Twin turbo=One more turbo to feed, so less oil pressure available at the Turbo.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
