I have an E6 manual forester ECU here doing nothing if you want to try it out, turn the ignition on and see what CEL's come up.

probably not for normal around town stuff, I wouldnt go own brand but I'm running a ryco one on the Legacy GT I daily, but for the cost difference I'd rather not have the chance it goes wrong on my WRX.

I know the genuine Tokyo-Roki ones have metal end caps on either end of the filter media, where as some of the aftermarket (Fram espcially!) have card end caps.

Theres nothing wrong with any reputable brand filter. Its not like they throw a bunch of card into a tin can and seal it up. If you buy a branded filter that is actually correct for the application chances are 1 in a million of having a filter related failure.

I run ryco i like the fact it's rubber seal is pre oiled straight out the box and not dry

. I think most go wrong with oil changes when they don't prime the engine afterwards. You Should never start the engine after simply disconnect the injectors and crank it over until the oil light goes away. I must say i have notice through the years of working on subarus that most that run beb have either a frame or Repco branded oil filter.. not saying that it's the cause but it's enough for me to pick ryco over those 2 anyway. Repco use to use ryco years ago but switched to cheaper China brand and label them as there own

Ryco are chinese made if you want to distinguish between brands. They are very like castrol. Very smart marketing in a world where perception is reality. Means you can charge more than anyone else and say its because your product is so much better.

It really doesnt matter whether they use steel end caps or ones made of sheep **** if it meets or exceeds the manufacturers spec its not any worse is it...

People get so hung up on genuine and fail to understand genuine parts arent always made by fhi. Chances are Sakura lads make their filters in jakarta along with a **** ton of other gen manufacturers.

I have only used generic filters from the list I mentioned and have never had a problem. I do regularly change my own oil at less than 10k intervals.

Just wanted to check if others were having varying success, cheers.

Sounds like youve got it sorted should be safe as a church.

I have specifically sold oil and filtration for the last 3 years and 7 before that and am yet to see the correct oil or filter causing an engine failure.

Spot on there bro! Sakura is produced in Jakarta and as far as i'm aware, a few other manufacturers are as well.

At work I order thousands of filters from their Jakarta warehouse each month.

The filters are made to OEM spec and I've supplied them to all my friends and family over the years and have never had any issues.

      Afternoon team,
      im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket. 
      Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.
