Test drove an 86 today as there is one at Toyota here in Wanganui, to my horror it was an auto...why oh why they would choose a slusher as a demo? I have no idea, but it did have the TRD kit and nice charcoal 18s so looked the biz, interior is truely horrible though and would possibly be a deal breaker for me.

We found the twistiest bit of open road we could find, and yeah pretty impressed, you would have some serious fun in a manual one the handling is really all its hyped up to be, VERY firm though, but don't know if this as due to to 18 inch 40s on a car setup for 16s?

Auto fail.

Interior borderline fail even given the low ticket price.

For sure bro on both counts, ok the seats are nice but that's it. you can't tell me that's the best they could do...look at the Swift sports interior/console/quality for only 28g retail, let's face it its what you are staring at 99% of the time, it really was an after thought.

Thats the same one I had a close look at up here was noisy onroad, i was guessing it was the wheel/tire combo

what did you think? I hope you got to take it through a section of the Para's? you would have to know them pretty well being up that way yeah? I wasn't game enough to turn off the TCS completely, but it was spoiling the party really early in the Sport setting while powering through tight corners.

Went for a ride in Speedtech's one last week. Just a brief drive, but its interesting - I agree the dash is ugly and very cheap looking. Sound doesn't seem very Subaru like, but sounds better up the rev's. The guys from Speedtech had taken it to Manfield the weekend before and said it got passed by everything on the straights, but that it handled really well for a completely stock car.

Which version has Speedtech got ?

The GT model seems to be the sweet spot.

I wonder if Subaru were counting the pennies when engineering this car ?

The observant would have noticed the base model has puny 277mm front brakes, the GT moves up to a 294/290 combo.

If those numbers seem familiar they were the same size used on the original sporty Imprezas...

as has been with all the generations of bits and bobs from subaru - they are the kings of lego cars (imo).. soooo much is plug and play across the models its no suprise what so ever you're going to find BRZ things that replicate the numbers and design of impreza / legacy stuff.

Just remember It is a cheap sports car. They could of put nice interior and more performance into it, but then the price would go up to suit. while its no GT-R, for what it is, its a pretty good platfrom to start from. Hopefully they'll develop it more in future models/sub-models.

Like the Korean Car makers, they started off nasty, now they are the pointing end.

Meaning that 4-pot conversion and Turbo install just got that much easier....

Had a look a an 86 in the flesh today at Cookies Toyota here in Dunners. It's a red, auto version and the car certainly looks better in the flesh. That said, it does have a really cheap feel to it, not premium by a long way. Apparently 4 have been sold in Dunedin already.

aww is that all?, apparently cooke bmw sold 4 of the new bmw m5's, got taken for a drive in one and was drooooolll

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
