I think the amount of bracing in a production car is probably a bit of a trade off between rigidity and NVH levels. A bit like having rubber bushings where for outright performance you might want solid joints.

To customise it further to an individuals wants and needs. Same as stiffer sway bars, mounts etc.

 Tainen']yep, the pipe from the intake to the firewall is for cabin noise.

I'm gonna tear it out and put in an intake system and some proper exhaust so it sounds like a real engine.

it sounds decent- but it definitely is the intake sound you are hearing, not the exhaust sound. I'd like it to be the other way around.

He's probably jumped the gun a bit as 2013's don't usually go on sale until the second half of the year.

$60k NZ is a lot of green.

That is an awesome read! Its amazing how they have thought of the small things to make life easy like the firewall grommet.
