no you dont, if they have the yellow tag on they are fine, and they are a great upgrade.

please please do a full fluid flush to something good like RBF660 at the same time. with pads and lines it will be like night and day.

get your self the booster brace as well when time / funds allow and sit back and enjoy epic brakes.

Bling bling waste of time and money.

;D

Good pads + fluid, maybe a booster brace (more effective in wobbly old GC8's than newer Imprezas).

No cert needed of they meet recognised standards, eg FMVSS106.

Main area of concern is the fittings at each end of the hose.

+1 awesome upgrade...had very little brake fade compared to old setup. Using same pads only changed the lines and the fluid.

definately disagree, on anything 10year plus now, the hoses go rubbery and s***, so its a great way to get feel back into the pedal.

Much depends on the specific vehicle.

Fresh pads, fluid, proper system flush is likely too provide bigger gains unless the lines are damaged.

Brake booster brace ? ? You mean brake master cylinder stopper ? ? Stops fire wall flex ? The theory behind the braided lines are that the rubber hose will expand to a degree . Thus decreasing the force onto the caliper pistons . . The braided hoses wont expand under pressure . . Thus improving the force applied to the brake pads... .. . .. Same as brake cylinder stopper .. When the fire wall flexs (when standing on the pix) this decreases the force applied to the master cylinder piston . Which applies less pressure to the brake caliper . .. Stop the fire wall flexing and get more brake force . . . . . . Its all fine and dandy but not really needed for a road car . . . Unless you love standing on the brakes . . Good for a track car :)

Ive changed out my Legacy lines with some STi ones. (never had issues with VTNZ WOF with them on car)

I did notice difference. It changed the way the pedal felt. I also added a master cyclinder brace a few months after.

Yeah. Lines and brace helped the pedal feel more solid. I picked them up on one trip to japan, so for me it was a cheap upgrade. Only problem i had was When i sold car one of the lines failed WOF due to having a crack in the outer sheath. (Tough call imo)"

Had Bendix Ultimates, Motul brake fluid, and some Unkown brand of crossdriledl front rotors.

Took a nice drive via Parapara's to find the limit of this setup.

so you got braided hoses from Japan ? they would have no nz safety standard tags so would require Cert ?

They were STi braided lines. One could say that since they are a OEM option they dont need cert. Others say cause they didnt have a NZ tag you do....

Have you been hit up about them in a WOF check? I'd suggest you'd still need NZ safety tags... STi branded stuff can be bought world-wide, doesn't mean it's all legal world-wide.

2x VTNZ wofs (car still had yearly WOF's) Only when I sold the car and had to put a new WOF on I had to replace one of the rear lines (the trailing arm line, not the caliper line) cause it had a spilt in the outter plastic sheath.

*NB never got picked up on wheel spacers either.

Car was sold in late 2008 anyway.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
