Top of the road was under about a foot of snow (more in places) and couldnt even get to the bottom of the big hil because there was a 4x4 stuck in a ditch blocking the whole dang road haha. Probably a good thing i couldnt try it though tbh

snow days were good, had he HX out with snow tires on, made it everywhere with a full car, while trucks were getting stuck going up cargill, whare flat the same. priceless looks from the big 4X4 drivers.

different story without the weight in the car. they've cleared majority of cargill..but when u do get to the snow it is abit deep..

Yeah, a bit of an anticlimax really... I'm going for a cruise this arvo up cargil and around halfway bush just for a look around though. I haven't been to either place this year yet and my foz is looking far to clean for my liking :D

Went up Cargill Hill at midday. Well not sure if I got to the very top as it was my first time up there. Had a little bit of time before dropping my gf off at class so we went up, it was pretty cool. Didn't really find anywhere flat with heaps of snow though, maybe there was something further up. I'll try next time it snows!

I also went up Mt Cargil at roughly midday haha. Your trip was probably a wee bit more sedate than mine (I ended part way up a bank but didnt get pics sorry haha, thank god for never lowering my car).

Did you go up the long steep hill?

I didn't get to the long steep bit! I don't know if you saw them, but there was a Chorus van or something doing some wiring in a paddock with cones on the road, i only went a bit further than that.

How long did it take to get to the top?

1 minutes drive from where you were, just after that long straight steep bit. if its not fresh snow, do not go. everybody seems to end up against the bank on the right hand side coming down. black ice hides in the shadows..

hope theres a mad dumping tonight.

dam i'm definitely going next time it snows.

it's not forecasted to, but the predictions are so unreliable anyway.

think i might get a cheap tow rope off trademe incase i get stuck or find any others in need lol

Go out to waipori, the gorge is awesome!

Otago rally section, prolly not so much snow because of shrub cover.

Or there's the other way out up lee stream and down through black rock, though watch for black ice on a few of the tarmac corners though. Thoroughly good gravel roads. The lee stream way to lake mahinerangi takes you through black rock, and thornicroft, pretty cool gravel roads(used to live in thronicroft).

Waipori way can get you there if you go out the back to lawrence then take the other road back up looping around to mahinerangi, through thornicroft, black rock, lee stream and back to outram. Quite a haul though great views if its snowed on. I haven't been out there in ages, due to not having lived there in ages( thornicroft, waipori and lawrence lol)

Just an idea if any of you were interested in.

Yeah i have tow rope. Need new chains (or repairs) after breaking a ladder today while towing someone out.

If there is alot of snow or it has been compacted then dont do up the steep hill on cargill (especially without chains). I didn't bother with chains on the way down today and it was a little dicey.

up around lee stream is good, went there with andrew last year and soo lives out that way somewhere

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
