new break pads

Recommended Posts

and some more info....

It is easy to find subjective opinions about brake pad performance, but often difficult

to find hard data. This post collects hard data on popular brake pads - much of which

has been gleaned from other vwvortex posters.

The friction coefficient is directly proportional to pad grippiness and brake torque.

The max operating temperature is directly related to fade resistance which is an

important factor in choosing a brake pad as well.

Performance categories are organized by friction coefficient and serve as a guide

only - some pads may fit into multiple categories. If you have questions about a

particular pad, it is always best to get a data sheet directly from the manufacturer

to ensure that the latest formulation meets your particular needs.

Please post any corrections or additional data

some comments..

i have gotten new freodo excells all around as per thread..

the breaks make 0 noise so very good for street and also not much break dust

the initial contact seems bit light but as u press harder it stands up to the job..

repeated breaking (hard) will have them smoking but the grip does not go away..i guess its a good thing so u can know when its quits time without having to get break fade and back off..

the above statements are due for reversion simply coz i have to get my breaks bled and then will be able to give some more accurate feedback..

so far they seem good for street...

Im trialing out some project mu's for the track 2moro, weren't that cheap at $350+gst for fronts and 250+gst for rears. But have heard they are pretty damn good for what Im wanting, now it's only the tyres letting things down so gotta get onto that.... But with all this rain, I probably won't go with the semi-slicks 2moro and stick with the toyos I currently have on.

I concur, best pads I've ever had, along with braided brake lines and a good fluid flush my brakes went all day at the track. Never felt such immense braking I love them, wonder what the next step up would be like with slicks ;D

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
